Analyst, Statistics & Data Warehouse (SDW), JDT

Formulate, design, develop, implement, maintain and support critical statistical and data warehouse applications to serve the key functions of the following stakeholders:

• Dissemination of credit reports for assessment of credit worthiness by FIs and for the public.


• Publication of monetary, financial, external sector and macro-economic statistics via National Statistics Data Publication (NSDP) and Monthly Highlights and Statistics (MHS).


• Data dissemination to support line departments in delivering the Bank's key mandates.


• Data dissemination to external stakeholders for official compilation, analysis and decision making.

• Manage availability, reliability, performance and disaster recovery readiness of credit bureau systems, ensuring maximum system uptime, minimal business disruption, and optimal system response time, in accordance with the expectations of all stakeholders, international standards and best practices.


• Manage the lifecycle of systems and server infrastructure and its related system solutions technology refresh with minimised impact to business operations and in compliance with the Technology Architecture design, standards and principles


• Identify systems and server infrastructure capabilities and implement proven technologies and adaptive infrastructure to enable business outcomes


• Ensure resiliency of systems and server infrastructure and its related system solutions for business continuity, high availability and sustained performance of the Bank’s primary functions


• Provides advisory roles in systems and server architecture principles to ensure the delivery of emerging ICT system solutions that best meet the business demand and priorities


• Undertake research and feasibility study on systems and server infrastructure and its related system solutions to ensure its reliability, agility and resiliency for faster business innovation


• Undertake and support enhancement initiatives and process improvements by benchmarking against standards, best practices, and methodologies, and ensuring they are in accordance with guidelines and stakeholder expectations.


• Undertake remediation of cybersecurity findings in applications by applying middleware patches and refreshing outdated software or technologies to address system obsolescence.


• Manage and provide support services to stakeholders, ensuring that all reported incidents, problems and issues are resolved conclusively in the shortest possible duration, without any impact to business operations.


• Manage relationship with stakeholders ensuring that IT services deliver stakeholder satisfaction and ensuring that the IT services add value to the stakeholders.


• Continuously keeping abreast with technology development to enable optimisation of the Bank’s IT infrastructure and application for the improvement of IT solutions delivery to business users


• Build and maintain relationship with external expert and peers in other organizations to benchmark and research appropriate technology and processes for enhancing IT services in the Bank.

Critical Success Factor

• Ability to understand the application business area and perform application support, software testing, software design & development, application integration, and project management in system development .


• Capable of supporting complex systems, ensuring operational stability, and contributing to continuous service improvement initiatives. 


• Good understanding of high availability design and concept (eg failover, clustering), application security testing, server technology (Unix, Linux and Windows environment), Cloud technology (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) etc), and well-versed in authentication and access control principle .

Academic Qualifications: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering.

Experience: At least 3 years working experience in administration and support of IBM iSeries (AS/400) servers, software development and application support, demonstrating strong technical skills and problem-solving skills. Experience in ITIL is an added advantage. Experience with cloud technologies is highly desirable, and holding an ITIL certification will be considered an added advantage. 

Knowledge: System development life cycle, system analysis and design, database management and technically strong in all or some of this software: SQL, Oracle, Visual Basic, JAVA, .NET, IIS, Unix, Unix Shell Script Programming, MS SSRS, MS SSAS, MS SSIS, Apache, MS Sharepoint, IBM Websphere, CI/CD tools, Bitbucket, Test Automation tools, Cloud technologies and Cybersecurity.Knowledge in administration and support of IBM iSeries (AS/400) servers which include backup, restore, and archive technology. Familiarity with console command and batch jobs, 3 or more years working experience in administering web servers e.g. Apache, IBM HTTP and application servers e.g. WebSphere. in an enterprise environment would be an advantage
