Application Specialist

Engineering - Software (Information & Communication Technology)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Application Specialist to join our IT team. The successful candidate will handle and resolve issues related to our Hospital Information System (HIS) and Electronic Medical Report (EMR) system, as well as third-party applications integrated with these systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Support and Coordination:

• Assist Head of IT in planning and executing projects, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely completion of project phases.
• Follow up with stakeholders, schedule meetings, and maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports.
• Participate actively in the deployment of IT projects, working collaboratively to meet project targets and quality objectives.
• Apply knowledge of project management, applications design, and software development lifecycles to support HIS and EMR implementation projects.

Technical Support and Issue Resolution:

• Manage and resolve incoming e-support tickets from end users, addressing both hardware and software issues within servers, databases, networks, and other mission-critical systems.
• Liaise with end users to gather new requirements and enhancements for existing systems and IT equipment, following the change management process.

System Enhancement and Process Improvement:

• Provide resolutions and propose solutions to Head of IT for issues related to HIS systems and integrated third-party applications, including workflow, design, and development.
• Conceptualize ideas and develop systematic approaches to implement them effectively.
• Assist team members in preparing, maintaining, and updating requirements, specifications, and business process documentation.
• Evaluate documented resolutions, analyze trends, and make recommendations to prevent future issues.
• Based on user support experiences, suggest improvements to enhance hardware/software performance across the organization.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Demonstrate excellent time management and communication skills while collaborating with vendors, clients, and project teams to deliver results on time.
• Act as the primary point of contact within the department for IT-related questions and queries.

Qualification & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in supporting HIS and EMR systems.
• Strong technical knowledge in servers, databases, networks, and other mission-critical systems.
• Familiarity with project management principles and software development lifecycles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with change management processes is a plus.
