1) JOB DESCRIPTION
To portion out the patients’ food for every meal time in the plating room according to the diet sheet/menu.
To send the patients’ meals to the wards for every meal and to collect dirty crockeries and trays from wards after every meal.
To wash all the food containers and utensils that have been used during serving and to ensure the working area is clean.
To do the ward rounds every morning & afternoon to update the diet sheets by checking against the wards’ day books for any discharging patients or new admissions.
To ask/assist every patient in the wards for their preferred menu for the next following day.
To key in the diet order from patient in the Meal Order Form.
To do the summary of the menu for the next following day for every ward separately for breakfast, lunch, dinner and fill in the Menu Sorting Form.
To do the summary for monthly meals served.
Inform the Chef/Cook if special items have been requested by patients.
To charge patients for any special order meals requested and inform to billing.
To answer phone calls from wards informing about any changes in diet ordered/new admission and to record it/do amendment in the particular diet sheet/menu/request book.
To wash and cut fruits for patients’ meals.
To cook rice for patients for selling at cafeteria when the kitchen helper is on leave or not around.
To arrange the clean and dry crockery in the allocated cabinet and shelves.
To clean the refrigerator in the kitchen.
To throw all rubbish from the service area to the hospital main rubbish collection centre daily.
Assist to check each patient’s meal at the end of meal assembly to make sure food is served as ordered.
To perform any other duties, without hesitation as when required by the Management.
To take reasonable care for the safety and health of him/herself and of other persons who may be affected by his acts or omissions at work.
To wear and use at all times any personal protective equipment or clothing provided by the Management for the purpose of preventing risks to his or her safety and health.
Ensure all policies and procedures of Integrated Management System certification and Hospital Accreditation are adhered to.
Participate actively in other new service that introduced.
Ensure the policies on patient’s and family’s rights are addressed at all times.
To carry out other responsibilities or duties assigned from time to time by Head of Services.
Ensure compliance to Patient Safety Goals as safety improvement measures recommended by World alliance for Patient Safety (2008).
Ensure to actively participate in 5S activities.
Ensure adhere to SE KPJ Way.
To comply with Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) policy.
2) JOB REQUIREMENT
Minimum in SPM.
Preferred to have cert/diploma/degree in food service or other related.
No experience required.
Preferred to have working experience in F&B for at least one (1) year.
Creative and innovative.
Punctual and highly discipline.
Willing to learn and improve.
Posses good interpersonal skills.
Friendly and approachable.
Capable to communicate all levels of staffs and patients in different languages particularly in Malay and English.
