Assistant Manager, GT-TBS, GCDB Application Delivery, Next Gen Clicks MY (Back End Developer 2)

Job Purpose *

An ideal candidate will be an experienced “full stack developer” who understands end-to-end stack with a larger amount of experience in Java, J2EE and Spring frameworks

Key Responsibilities  *

•    Develop, enhance, and maintain backend services for core banking and digital channels.

•    Translate business and technical requirements into clean, maintainable code.

•    Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, and DevOps to deliver features on schedule.

•    Write tests, perform code reviews, and uphold engineering standards and best practices.

•    Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver long-term fixes.

•    Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.

•    Contribute to technical design discussions and mentor junior developers when needed.

Job Specification *

Qualifications 

(Basic Degree/Diploma etc)    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).

Professional Qualification and/or Regulatory, Licensing requirements     Relevant Certification 

Relevant Work Experience     •    4-7 years of relevant Java development experience in enterprise environments.

Proven experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL databases, and distributed systems concepts.

•    Exposure to cloud/container technologies is a plus.

•    Experience in banking, payments, or other regulated industries is preferred.

•    Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Required Competencies and Skills *

Design and Development experience, with OOD/MVC design, Java/J2EE, web services, RESTFul API, JSON, XML, Linux/Unix development tools, scripting languages Python, Perl, JavaScript

Solid understanding of RDBMS data models. More than one database knowledge is essential

    Technical/Functional skills

•    4-7 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.

•    Strong proficiency in Java 11+ and Spring Boot for building scalable services.

•    Solid experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.

•    Good understanding of SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning in relational databases.

•    Familiarity with messaging/event-driven architecture (for example Kafka or RabbitMQ).

•    Working knowledge of CI/CD, Git, and automated testing (unit/integration).

•    Good grasp of secure coding practices, API security, and production support.

•    Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in Agile teams.

•    Self-starter and motivated with ability to work in a fast paced Rapid Application Development environment. Ability to handle multiple development tasks and assignments simultaneously

•    Skilled in communicating complex information with business and technical stakeholders as appropriate
