Assistant Manager - Investment Services will support the evaluation, structuring and execution of investment opportunities across Malaysia and overseas markets. The role covers company acquisitions, joint ventures, land acquisitions, strategic partnerships and divestments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for financial modelling, investment analysis, feasibility studies, due diligence coordination and preparation of investment papers for Management and Board consideration. The candidate should be able to work independently, manage multiple workstreams and provide clear, objective recommendations.
Investment Evaluation and Financial Analysis
- Evaluate new investment opportunities across different sectors and markets.
- Prepare and review financial models, project feasibility studies and investment return analysis.
- Assess revenue, profitability, cash flow, funding requirements, IRR, NPV, investment returns and gearing impact.
- Perform scenario analysis, sensitivity testing and downside assessment to identify key investment risks.
- Review commercial and financial assumptions provided by project, finance, market intelligence and other relevant teams.
Transaction Structuring
- Review transaction structures, including share and asset acquisitions, joint ventures, equity and shareholder funding, deferred or milestone-based payments, and divestment arrangements.
- Assess the financial, commercial, accounting and funding implications of proposed structures.
- Support the preparation and review of key commercial terms, term sheets and transaction proposals.
Due Diligence and Transaction Management
- Coordinate financial, tax, legal, commercial and technical due diligence workstreams.
- Work closely with internal departments, external consultants, lawyers, tax advisers, auditors and other professional parties.
- Identify material findings and assess their impact on investment value, project returns and transaction completion.
- Recommend appropriate mitigations, including conditions precedent, payment retention, warranties, indemnities or price adjustments.
- Track key transaction requirements and support the transaction process from initial evaluation to completion.
Investment Papers and Management Reporting
- Prepare investment papers, Board papers, risk assessment reports, management briefing notes and presentation materials.
- Present key findings, investment gaps, major risks and recommended actions in a clear and structured manner.
- Provide objective recommendations supported by financial analysis and commercial considerations.
- Monitor approved investments, key assumptions, financial performance and major delivery milestones.
- Support annual business planning, budget reviews and strategic investment assessments.
5. Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with business development, project, finance, legal, tax, treasury, market intelligence and management teams.
- Coordinate with regional teams across Malaysia and international markets.
- Support discussions and negotiations with vendors, business partners, investors, bankers and external advisers.
- Ensure investment assumptions and transaction terms are aligned among all relevant stakeholders.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain investment models, transaction records and investment assessment templates.
- Support improvements to the Company’s investment evaluation and approval processes.
- Undertake other investment-related responsibilities assigned by Management.
