Job Descriptions:
- Responsible for purchasing all hotel requirements while ensuring quality, quantity, and cost efficiency.
- Obtain competitive quotations from at least three suppliers.
- Prepare supplier comparison and quotation analyses.
- Prepare tender documents, evaluate bids, negotiate pricing, and recommend final prices to management.
- Source products, services, and contractors for special projects.
- Conduct market surveys and monitor supplier pricing trends.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative products without compromising quality.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective suppliers.
- Attend trade shows and exhibitions to identify new products and industry developments.
- Coordinate inventory and par stock levels with the Cost Controller.
- Arrange consignment stock and manage purchasing controls.
- Maintain supplier records and support tax and customs procedures.
- Supervise Purchasing Officers and Purchasing Clerks.
- Conduct staff coaching, counselling, performance reviews, and regular briefings.
- Communicate management directives and represent the team in finance meetings.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, attendance standards, and disciplinary procedures.
- Promote environmental sustainability, waste reduction, recycling, and energy conservation initiatives.
- Maintain professional conduct, ethics, grooming, and hygiene standards.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- CPA qualification preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of purchasing/procurement experience in a large organization, preferably within hospitality.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Purchasing Officer in the hospitality or catering industry.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Basic understanding of local dialects is an advantage.
- PC literate.
- Knowledge of accounting concepts.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
