Assistant Vice President

Key Responsibilities

1. Account Closure Governance & Execution

• Lead the end‑to‑end AML account closure workflow, ensuring timely, accurate, and well‑supported closure decisions.
• Ensure all closure recommendations meet regulatory expectations (e.g., MAS 626, FATF standards) and internal risk frameworks.
• Oversee proper documentation, justifications for each closure case.

2. Case Management & Escalation Handling

• Review closure actions from analysts and providing guidance and final approval where required.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on closure decisions.

3. Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Serve as the central liaison for all AML account closure matters
• Communicate closure decisions professionally to Business Units and senior management.
• Partner with Frontline teams to mitigate customer friction while upholding standards.

4. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure full compliance with regulatory obligations, including customer off‑boarding requirements and reporting timelines.
• Support L1.5, L2 and L3 inspections, internal audits, and thematic reviews involving account closures.
• Maintain accurate dashboards, MI reporting, and trend analysis for management oversight.

5. Process Improvement & Control Enhancements

• Continuously refine the account closure framework to strengthen risk detection and operational effectiveness.
• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and control issues; propose and implement corrective actions.
• Drive automation or digitalisation initiatives to streamline closure processes where feasible.

6. Team Leadership & Coaching

• Provide subject‑matter expertise to junior team members on AML risk, customer exit criteria, and regulatory standards.
• Promote a strong compliance and risk culture within the organization.
