Associate Analyst/Analyst, Alternative and Admin Datasets, Data Management and Statistics (JPS)

Conduct statistical analysis/research, establish business and functional requirements for the development/enhancement of the macroeconomics and debt securities related statistical systems, as well as to collect, compile and disseminate credible and timely macroeconomics and debt securities statistics to facilitate surveillance, compliance analysis, policy formulation, in accordance with statutory and stakeholders requirements and international, national and bank-wide compilation/ dissemination standards and methodologies.

1. Efficient Data Management
   
   
   
   1. Collect and compile data from reporting entities (REs) both regulated financial and non-financial institutions and non-regulated external data providers in accordance with international, national and bank-wide statistical standards and compliance requirements (EDG, ISMP etc.).
   
   
   2. Facilitate REs to meet regulatory reporting requirements as mandated in the relevant acts and guidelines in accordance with stipulated deadlines, by effectively communicating reporting requirements, clarifications and guidance to REs to ensure reporting integrity via specific engagements with REs. 
   
   
   3. Verify data at micro and macro levels to ensure data integrity and accuracy, and undertake pre-emptive measures to address data issues. d. Identify problems/weaknesses in data management operations including system related matters, make recommendations and implement solutions to improve process efficiency and effectiveness. 
   
   
   4. Draft or revise policy documents, reporting and operational procedures, and guidelines to document the latest reporting requirements and data management operations. 
   
   
   5. Keep abreast with the latest developments/industry trends to identify data patterns and significant developments affecting stakeholders, within subject area.
   
   


2. Statistical Insights
   
   
   
   1. Analyse data trend at individual entity, sector/industry, domestic and global settings to identify data patterns and significant developments affecting stakeholders, within subject area - the outcome will be incorporated as part of existing report or specific white papers. 
   
   
   2. Generate meaningful data insights, including thematic write-ups/papers or visualisation to be presented to senior management and policy platforms, through statistical methodologies and analytics.
   
   


3. Statistical Imputation & Forecasting 
   
   
   
   1. Conduct statistical analysis/research on suitable statistical methodology to improve data comprehensiveness and quality
   
   
   2. Fill missing data points and forecast future trends through utilisation of statistical models and machine learning.
   
   


4. Statistical Communication 
   
   
   
   1. Develop effective statistical communication in conveying statistical information and insights to a wide range of audiences - targeted for internal users and public.
   
   


5. System Enhancement 
   
   
   
   1. Establish comprehensive business and functional requirements for the development / enhancement of the macroeconomics and debt securities statistical systems. 
   
   
   2. Conduct comprehensive system testing to ensure all business and functional requirements are properly incorporated and that the system is able to meet user requirements in an efficient manner.
   
   


6. Coach and supervise the team of support staff.

• Academic Qualifications: Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business, Finance, Banking, Accounting, or equivalent. 


• Experience: At least 2 years of working experience, preferably with a demonstrated ability in data management and interest in macroeconomics and debt securities Statistics.
