Job Description & Summary

PwC Malaysia's Capital Projects & Infrastructure (CP&I) team consists of consulting professionals with expertise in providing financial and strategy advisory services for infrastructure projects. Our capabilities include financial feasibility, strategy development, project finance advisory, bid management & negotiations, project management and risk management for capital-intensive projects. We work across various infrastructure sectors such as aviation, transport and logistics (e.g. rail, ports), power and utilities (including energy transition), oil and gas, and real estate; throughout the infrastructure project and asset lifecycle.

As an Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:

Key accountabilities

Role specific 

  • Assist in the development and reviewing of financial models for capital projects and infrastructure initiatives. 
  • Conduct financial analysis, feasibility reports, strategy papers and risk assessments to support project planning and decision-making. 
  • Support proposal development as part of the team pursuit of advisory engagement opportunities covering research work, preparing proposal decks, carrying out internal risk checks, etc. 
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations to clients and senior team members. 
  • Support clients in the management and oversight of capital projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and performance monitoring. 
  • Conduct desktop and industry research leveraging on strong analytical skills to stay current with trends, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting capital projects and infrastructure. 
  • Work on developing internal relationships and your PwC brand 
  • Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and ensure the accuracy of data. 
  • Assist in the development of project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies. 
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate key findings and insights. 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of capital projects and infrastructure advisory methodologies and tools. 
  • Work effectively with colleagues to ensure timely and accurate completion of advisory engagements. 
  • Ensure the deliverables adheres to the firms' policies and risk management requirements 

Skills, experience and qualifications 

  • Graduate with less than 12 months of work experience 
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related field 
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA, CA, CFA, or a postgraduate degree would be an added advantage 
  • Demonstration of strong understanding of fundamental concepts in project management principles, accounting, financial analysis, and risk assessment techniques. 
  • Experience gained through internships in capital projects, infrastructure advisory, project management, or a related field. 
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills 
  • Possess good leadership skills and demonstrate resilience ability to operate as a team player in a fast-paced work environment. 
  • Able to demonstrate ability to interact with people of different backgrounds and build meaningful relationships 
  • Able to demonstrate analytical thinking and business acumen 
  • Proficiency in office suite ie (Google Suite/MS365). The ability to use PowerBI and/or Alteryx is an added advantage. 
  • Willingness to learn and apply new skills (e.g. research skills) across different type of advisory engagements.
