Responsibilities
- Perform daily monitoring and management of all backup related activities, including executing restore jobs, troubleshooting failed jobs, and initiating corrective action ·
- Configuration, monitoring, administration, and maintenance of backup environment including backup servers, backup storage, tape library, and clients server ·
- Performing standard and test restores of requested files, folders, databases, and virtual machines
- Troubleshooting backup issues related to Virtual Machines, File System and Databases such as DB2, MySQL and Microsoft SQL ·
- Troubleshoot complex backup issues and provide solutions and improvement ·
- Work independently with little supervision on day-to-day tasks, receiving general instructions on new assignments
- Work proactively to ensure the stability of backup environment ·
- Perform backup assessment from time to time and provide backup enhancement and improvement
- Ability to handle multi-tasking, prioritization and meet deadline with a flexible outlook and attitude
- Managing backup related project such as client upgrade, client migration, backup optimization ·
- Strong technical experience with backup solutions and architecture including administration, configuration and troubleshooting of Veritas NetBackup and NetBackup Appliance hardware.
Requirements
- Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in related field.
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in back up functions as well as large enterprise environment.
- Hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup and NetBackup Appliances.
- Good knowledge and hands-on experience with Virtual Machine, Windows and UNIX/LINUX backup configuration and troubleshooting.
- Possess skills and knowledge in DB2, MySQL and Microsoft SQL databases backup configuration and troubleshooting.
- Good knowledge and hands-on experience with LENOVO and IBM tape library.
- Strong knowledge in backup and data lifecycle is preferred.
- Possess a certification in backup field (added advantage).
- Proficient in English and Bahasa Melayu (verbal and written).
