• Product Lifecycle Management:
  • Work closely with product development, engineering, and manufacturing teams to manage the BOM throughout the product lifecycle, from design and prototype to production and end-of-life.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement engineering changes, new product introductions (NPI), and product modifications while maintaining BOM accuracy and integrity.
• Quality and Compliance:
  • Ensure that BOMs comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and quality specifications.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and compliance teams to validate BOM accuracy, traceability, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Documentation and Documentation Control:
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of BOMs, including version control, revision history, and change management.
  • Establish and enforce documentation control processes and procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of BOM data.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality assurance, and finance, to address BOM-related issues, resolve discrepancies, and support business objectives.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings, project teams, and process improvement initiatives to streamline BOM management processes and enhance efficiency.
• Continuous Improvement and Standardization:
  • Identify opportunities to standardize BOM structures, naming conventions, and formatting to improve consistency and facilitate interoperability across different product lines and projects.
  • Implement best practices and methodologies for BOM management, data governance, and data integrity.
• Training and Knowledge Transfer:
  • Provide training and support to engineering, manufacturing, and other relevant teams on BOM management processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing to enhance BOM management capabilities across the organization.
• Reporting and Analysis:
  • Generate reports, metrics, and analyses related to BOM accuracy, completeness, and performance indicators.
