Penerangan Pekerjaan - Business Development Manager - Innovative Company

We are seeking an organized Business Development Manager to join our experienced team at Pengerang Terminals Sdn Bhd in Kota Tinggi, Johor.

Key Job Responsibility (KJR):

1. Business Strategy and Development – responsible for business growth in assigned areas/markets:

  • Identify, select and target strategic new markets, opportunities and customers.
  • Examine market trends and conditions, and develop strategies to benefit from changing market or customers conditions.
  • Generate and communicate opportunities for growth through investments.
  • Translate complex findings into actionable recommendations and identifications of growth/improvement opportunities.

2. Investment Proposal – responsible for funneling the pipeline of PIPs/SIPs/FIPs related to assigned areas/markets:

  • Present viable business cases and investment projects for evaluation by senior management.
  • Demonstrate the financial viability and incremental value of proposed investments projects.
  • Ensure all commercial regulatory and permit risks are mitigated. Delivers written investment proposals for PITSB or the stakeholder Management/Board.
  • Ensure all internal approvals are received from senior management through formal project funding requests until final investment decision (FID).

3. Stakeholder Management – responsible for managing identified stakeholder:

  • Acts as primary contact between customer and the internal organization. Coordinate cross functional alignment between the company’s commercial, operational, financial, legal and technical functions.
  • Regularly provides updates on progress business cases and projects to senior management.
  • Lead or support commercial contract negotiation with now and existing customers; may serve as principal customer contact (“lead to contract”). Work with vendors such as engineering firms, contractors to develop specifications in line with customer, operational or market requirements.
  • Develop relationship with relevant government officials and regulators.

4. Project Management – responsible for managing and delivering projects per PITSB and/or stakeholder policies and guidelines.

  • Follow the company’s stage-gate Project Management process.
  • Develop the scope, timeline, overall goals for investment projects.
  • Manage all project phases up until at least FID.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on-time, in-scope and in-budget.
  • Ensure all projects are executed in compliance with relevant internal and external quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to post-implementation reviews and evaluation phase after project commissioning; identify and communicate learnings and best practices.
  • Ensure all proposals and final contracts are in compliance with relevant regulations and company standards.

5. Mergers and Acquisitions (optional) – responsible for M&A development in assigned areas/markets.

  • Identify potential acquisition or alliance partners in line with the long-term business strategy.
  • Negotiate and support drafting of legal M&A documents such as NDA’s, LOI’s, joint venture agreements.
  • Support the M&A department in due diligence processes and in determining the optimum value of acquisitions.

Requirement

  • A recognized Bachelor or Master degree in Technical/Engineering or Commercial/Business Economics or equivalent professional qualification, preferably in the Petroleum & Petrochemicals industries and/or associated industries.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years working experience, particularly in Commercial and/or Business Development in petroleum and/or petrochemical sector or associated industries. Of these, minimum 3 years working experience in business development and project-related commercial roles.
  • For Manager level, minimum 3 years working experience in people management.
  • Fluent in both written and oral English.
  • Proficiency in other languages are a plus point.
  • Mobility to travel within Malaysia and Singapore.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent working knowledge in Petroleum/Petrochemical industry. Knowledge in renewable energies including biofuels is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity in Supply Chain covering storage and terminaling, shipping, trucking, warehousing etc is an added advantage.
  • Deep understanding of the industry’s technical and operation processes, initiatives, market trends and industry pricing structure.
  • Thorough understanding of financial concepts and models.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate, prioritize, meet tight deadlines, multitask.
  • Strong leadership, project management and business development skills.
  • Good in analyzing strategic internal and external factors and well in collaboration with all functions.
  • Budgeting and costs effectiveness.
  • Familiarity in Government and authorities regulations and policies is an added advantage.
