Business Finance Manager / Cost Controller - Urgent

The successful incumbent is accountable for the overall financial management of the business units and acts as the business or financial advisor to the Management. Reporting directly to and working in an advisory capacity to the General Manager, this person will provide the leadership team with profitability insights, product costing, and financial business simulations and work with other department heads to formulate business strategy proposals for various products, product lines and customers. This candidate will also be responsible for compiling and putting together the monthly financial reports and yearly budgets.

Responsibilities:

• Formulate business strategy proposals for various products, product lines and customers.

• Act as the cost controller in partnership with other departments, to attain cost competitiveness for the company.

• Ensure effective internal controls are in place, good corporate governance is practised and adhered to, and team up with operations to drive cost reduction initiatives.

• Report and provide all financial reports, analysis and interpretation for financial planning and strategies, responsible for the monthly management report for the business units.

• Undertake capital expenditure and Investment assessment, implementation review and conduct post-Capital Expenditure Request (CER) and Investment reviews to ensure that the purpose and financial returns as proposed have been realized.

• Improve internal controls and lead Enterprise Risk Management for the business units.

• Lead and train the team players in business finance.

• Quality Accountability :

- Enforce compliance with standard operating procedures and specifications.

- System or procedure improvement.

- Proliferation of the best practices.

- Review of potential quality issues highlighted by subordinates.

- Communicate quality alerts/changes to subordinates and peers on time.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in a managerial role in the manufacturing or semiconductor industry.

• Degree in finance or equivalent.

• Good analytical skills, able to work independently and lead a team.

• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills with the ability to work well with all levels.

• Possess the ability to work as part of a team and build strong working relationships.

• Strong business acumen.

• Strong track record in project management with success in process improvement and /or cost cutting.

• Self-motivated, results-oriented and able to meet deadlines with a high level of commitment.
