The Buyer for General Procurement (GP) is responsible for general (indirect) procurement activities in Malaysia across all Divisions under the “One Roof” including Local Sourcing and Operations, and also contributes to the regional general (indirect) procurement synergies and strategies. The Buyer reports to the Regional Manager General Procurement. He/she ensures compliance with the procurement process.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Act as focal point for local sourcing activities for the assigned Country/Region/Divisions. Perform for the Country/Region, all request for quotations in a fair competition mode and according to General Procurement (GP) processes.
  2. Raise POs from customer PRs. Help to ensure deliverables. (goods/services) are in line with the contractual terms (cost, time, quality).
  3. Manage simple sourcing activities according to GP process, negotiating the terms and conditions of quotations.
  4. For complex sourcing projects, lead and manage call for tenders according to GP process, negotiating the terms and conditions of quotations and contracts and management of the supplier contracts.
  5. Generate and submit report on savings and other procurement metrics using the GP tracking tools and methodology.
  6. Contribute to proactive management of the relationship with internal business partners to ensure target level of customer satisfaction for the Region/Divisions.
  7. Work with the businesses to facilitate in developing and maintaining an efficient supply chain capable to deliver goods/work-packages (services), matching Airbus requirements and business objectives.
  8. Identify and Optimize bundling opportunities to leverage the buying power of Airbus in the Country/ Region and achieve potential savings.
  9. For the allocated portfolio of activities, formulate and implement the procurement strategy aligning with customers’ business needs by means of managing regular MFT (Multi-functional teams) meetings with stakeholders.
  10. Drive local for local / local for regional sourcing, apply Global for local contracts where beneficial and required, and contribute to local for global initiatives.
  11. Support in providing rules and process information to the internal customers to ensure correct and compliant execution of procurement activities.
  12. Ensure full compliance in procurement process.
  13. Support the Regional Manager in driving and monitoring change management, to ensure a successful implementation of GP in the region and ensure the buy-in of the internal stakeholders.
  14. Act as escalation point to the Regional Manager for GP issues, etc.
  15. Contribute to innovation and digitalization in the procurement process through the deployment of state-of-the-art processes and tools.
  16. Upkeep and live Airbus Values, Leadership Model and Code of Conduct.

 

Background and Skills

  • Min. Education: Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Min. Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement experience for 7B.
  • Other Experience/Training/Qualifications: Qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management.
  • Special projects, technical skills, or certifications: Tactical and Strategic Procurement.

 

Other Qualifications/ Skills:

  1. Good level of spoken and written English
  2. Strong negotiation skills
  3. Good knowledge of contract and contract monitoring experience
  4. Good presentation skills
  5. Good level of competence in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint or the Google suite equivalent
  6. Team player
  7. Experience working with multiple stakeholders
