The Campus CPMU Chargeman, Malaysia you are required to ensure the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of all critical electrical and facility systems within the campus CPMU & Business Units Data Centers Across KUL 1& 2 Campus (KUL 1 - 11/12 /14 & KUL 2 - 21/22/23 & 24), including 33kV, 11kV, 415V and 240V, to support high availability of data center operations in a 24/7 mission critical environmental.
A key responsibility is carrying out safe switching operations, including isolation, energization, de-energization, and restoration of electrical systems in line with approved procedures and safety standards. In emergencies the Campus Chargeman & Support CFE acts as the first responder, leading fault isolation and supporting rapid power restoration to minimize downtime. Overall, the role requires strong technical knowledge of high-voltage systems, strict safety discipline and the ability to perform effectively in a critical 24/7 operational environment.
You are responsible for ensuring the safe, reliability and continuous operation of all critical electrical and facility systems across the CPMU and Business Units Data Centers within the KUL 1& 2 Campus (KUL 1 -11/12 /14 & KUL 2-21/22/23&24). On a day-to-day operational floor, you are required to actively monitor, operate and maintain all electrical systems at 33kV, 11kV, 415V and 240V levels, ensuring all activities are carried out in strict compliance with safety and operational procedures. You must perform routine inspections, respond promptly to alarms or faults and ensure all equipment remains in optimal working condition. At all times, you are expected to maintain high system availability and operational readiness to support continuous, uninterrupted data center operations in a 24/7 mission-critical environment.
Responsible for performing electrical switching operations for 33kV and 11kV systems, including planned and emergency switching activities such as isolation, energization, de-energization, earthing and restoration of electrical equipment. All switching activities must be executed strictly in accordance with approved switching procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Maintenance Operation Procedures (MOPs) and safety requirements to ensure safe execution with zero risk to personnel, equipment and operations. You are also responsible for low voltage systems, including 415V and 240V distribution, ensuring stable and continuous power supply to critical loads and data hall environments, including power up and power down activities for racks and customer support services when required.
On the operational floor, you are required to maintain close and continuous liaison with utility providers and regulatory authorities such as the Energy Commission (EC), TNB and DOSH to ensure full compliance with utility supply conditions, statutory inspections and regulatory standards. You will coordinate regularly with these authorities on matters related to substation operations, electrical supply reliability, compliance requirements and any regulatory submissions or approvals, ensuring all activitiesWork closely and coordinate with respective business units data center MCE’s, LCFE’, LCFT’s, CFE’ and CFT’s for daily operations manpower support, maintenance activities, inspections, troubleshooting and system restoration. You are also required to perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate superior and department head in line with operational priorities.
Responsible for managing all critical operational functions during assigned shifts, ensuring all electrical and facility systems are operated safely, efficiently, and reliably to maintain uninterrupted services. On the operational floor, you are required to provide continuous 24/7 support by actively monitoring systems and responding immediately to any alarms, faults or emergencies. You will participate in on-call rotations, including after working hours, weekends and public holidays, to ensure uninterrupted operations. You require close coordination with operations teams, contractors, vendors and relevant authorities, providing clear technical guidance, timely support and effective communication to ensure all activities are executed safely and efficiently.
Responsible for strictly implementing Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) and electrical safety procedures to ensure all equipment is properly isolated and de-energized before any maintenance or operational work begins, including verification of zero energy state, application of locks and tags, and compliance with approved SOPs, MOPs and permit-to-work systems. You are also required to ensure all personnel understand the isolation boundaries and associated risks through clear communication and safety briefings, while actively monitoring worksites to prevent unsafe practices and maintain full safety compliance. Upon completion of work, you must ensure safe restoration of equipment by confirming personnel clearance, properly removing LOTO devices in a controlled manner, and re-energizing systems according to approved switching procedures, with the overall responsibility of preventing electrical hazards, protecting personnel and equipment
Safety is the highest priority in all operations, and every activity must be carried out with strict discipline and full attention to risk control to ensure the protection of personnel, equipment and continuous operations within the data centre environment. You are required to proactively identify potential hazards before and during any task, ensure all necessary safety measures are in place, and maintain constant vigilance throughout the execution of work to prevent unsafe conditions or actions. Any safety concern must be immediately reported and corrected without delay. At all times, operational demands must never override safety requirements, as the protection of human life, equipment integrity, and operational stability takes absolute priority, ensuring all activities are performed in a safe, controlled, and responsible manner.
Provide daily and weekly CPMU operational reports covering system status, maintenance activities, incidents, and performance updates. Include accurate power consumption monitoring through meter readings, trend analysis, and identification of abnormalities to support effective energy management and reporting. Monitor, analyse and track daily energy usage to identify inefficiencies and drive optimization initiatives, supporting preventive maintenance planning, improved system performance and cost reduction objectives.
Participate actively in internal and external audits by preparing, reviewing, and presenting all required documentation to ensure full compliance with applicable ISO standards such as ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and as well as other relevant regulatory, statutory, and corporate governance requirements. Support audit readiness by maintaining accurate, up-to-date records, including policies, procedures, work instructions, risk assessments, incident reports and maintenance logs. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all operational processes align with established standards and best practices.
Responsible for overseeing housekeeping and cleanliness of the CPMU building, ensuring all areas are well-maintained, safe and organized.

Perform Maintenance Quality Checks (MQC) during and after execution to ensure work is completed according to approved procedures, safety requirements and data center standards. Identifies, documents and reports any deviations or non-compliance and ensures corrective actions are implemented to maintain quality and operational integrity.
Follow assigned working hours and shift schedules consistently. You are required to notify the team via the Teams chat group and inform the immediate superior at least one day in advance or as soon as possible (at least one hour before shift starts) in the case of emergency leave. For planned leave, you must provide at least two (2) days’ notice to the superior and team to ensure proper operational planning and coverage.
Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Valid 33kv Chargeman certification (HT) recognized by Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in high-voltage electrical systems or mission-critical facilities.
Strong knowledge of Electrical distribution systems, switching operations and safety procedures
Experience with CMMS systems & BMS and electrical monitoring tools
Strong problem-solving skills and proactive mindset.
Good communication and coordination skills in English & Bahasa Malaysia.
