Transaction Processing
- Greet customers warmly as they approach the counter.
- Accurately record and process customer orders, ensuring all items are entered correctly.
- Calculate the total cost of items, including taxes and discounts, and communicate the final amount to customers.
- Accept payments in the form of cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payments, or other accepted methods.
- Make change and provide receipts to customers.
- Handle transactions quickly and efficiently to minimize customer waiting times.
Cash Management
- Maintain a cash drawer with the correct starting amount.
- Count and reconcile cash at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure accuracy.
- Handle cash responsibly and follow established cash handling procedures to prevent errors and discrepancies.
- Keep track of cash inflows and outflows throughout the shift.
Customer Service
- Assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, answering their questions and addressing concerns.
- Provide recommendations or information about menu items, specials, and promotions.
- Handle customer complaints or issues with empathy and a desire to find solutions.
- Offer appropriate solutions or alternatives to resolve the customer’s request/situation when issues escalate.
- Further provide assistance to customers – clearly outline the required steps and when they can expect further communication or resolution.
Cleanliness and Organization
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the cash register, counter, and nearby surfaces.
- Keep menus, promotional materials, and other resources available and well-organized.
Order Accuracy
- Double-check orders to ensure accuracy before finalizing transactions.
- Verify that the items on the receipt match the items ordered by the customer.
Upselling and Promotion
- Suggest additional menu items, upsells, or combo offers to customers when appropriate.
- Inform customers about ongoing promotions or specials.
- Adjust menu offerings as needed to prioritize the sale of items that are nearing their expiration date (FIFO principles).
- Highlight the “specials of the day” to customers to drive sales and reduce inventory levels.
- Achieving the projected daily &monthly sales target.
Team Collaboration
- Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth order processing and timely service. Eg. advanced food ordering
