Purpose

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that all activities of the bulk liquid, microbulk, Application Equipment (AE), maintenance and projects are executed in a safe manner according to AP guidelines, procedures and best practices so that in general this builds up the AP safety culture.

This position provides leadership, designs and responsible for project execution on case basis.

Nature and Scope

This scope requires the person to have a good hand’s on approach toward mechanical engineering. Able to organize, co-ordinate and plan the lead technician/senior technician/ technicians’ activities which are related to the customer station installations and maintenance work.

Able to manage a small team of contractors working on various projects and maintenance work at one time.

Besides, this person needs to observe health and safety practices to ensure zero injury or recordable.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Responsible for materials selection in the design of customers’ station and in-house piping.

• Prepare budget for proposals to customers according to customer specifications. Participate in site visits where necessary.

• Responsible for project scheduling

• Responsible for the on-site execution, coordination, testing and commissioning

• Responsible for project hand over to customers and obtain acceptance letters and closeout report accordingly and submission to the departments concern

• Responsible for preparation and submission of a close-out report and final costing.

• Responsible to support customer call-out at all times.

• Support Senior Engineers/Lead Engineer/ Engineering Manager/ sales engineer team and assist sales department in preparing cost effective and practical proposal

• To liaise with appropriate government department for approval of installation & operations.

• Responsible to uphold highest safety standards accordance to AP requirements in execution of projects and site installations.

• Responsible to lead the technicians on day to day activities according to the service order and project system and to ensure progressive reporting.

• Support and participate actively any activities related to GDPMD / Medical Devices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or relevant.

• 4-5 years’ experience in project management/engineering services/maintenance in Industrial Gas, O&G (mechanical/piping/tank projects), Shipping projects or M&E Consulting industry.

• Experience in mechanical commissioning projects, P&ID layout drafting using AutoCAD, proposal calculation (flow rates, equipment size), managing large team of contractors for on-site tank and piping installation.

• Experience in electronic high purity piping system is added advantage.

• Able to work independently

• Posses own car. Able to travel within Malaysia on short notices.
