Summary
We're seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Client Accounts & Payroll Assistant to join our Outsourced Accounting Services team. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions for multiple clients. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of Malaysian accounting principles, payroll regulations, and the ability to seamlessly manage diverse client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
- Collaborate with clients to collect and verify timesheets, leave calculations, and other payroll-related data.
- Accurately input payroll data into our payroll systems or utilize the client's preferred software, ensuring compliance with company policies and Malaysian tax laws.
- Calculate wages, overtime, benefits, commissions, and deductions across multiple clients.
- Generate and deliver payslips in accordance with client requirements.
- Process and reconcile payroll tax payments and filings on behalf of clients.
- Address client and employee inquiries regarding payroll in a timely and professional manner.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process supplier invoices for clients, verifying accuracy and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Prepare and issue payments to vendors and suppliers according to client instructions.
- Perform bank reconciliations for clients.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable transactions for multiple clients.
- Assist in the collection of outstanding client invoices.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records for each client.
- Contribute to month-end and year-end closing procedures as needed for clients.
- Proactively identify potential process improvements and cost efficiencies for clients.
- Build strong professional relationships with client contacts.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in accounting or payroll, ideally with exposure to managing multiple clients.
- In-depth knowledge of Malaysian payroll regulations, tax laws, employment standards, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in utilizing various accounting and payroll software.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong client service orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin.
Desired Skills
- Experience in an accounting firm or professional services environment.
- Familiarity with Xero, Bukku, or other common accounting software
