Commercial Finance Manager

Position Purpose

The role will serve as a business partner with General or Modern Trade team in developing and implementing strategies, and identifying untapped opportunities to continuously improve the business by ensuring relevant financial analyses are are provided to aid in the business decision making process.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

• Support Commercial team in evaluating DFR (Discount from Revenue), RTM (Route to Market) and CTS (Cost to Serve) decisions with necessary financial estimates.
• Assists in LRP/Budgeting/RE topline preparation.
• Facilitates efficient trading terms and promotions, robust monitoring & evaluation (M&E) processes and leads DME related month-end closing activities.
• Value chain preparation.
• Reviews with commercial team on the period results with necessary insights.
• Market insight's, benchmarking
• Effectively communicate with General / Modern Trade teams and provide key decision support.
• Complex financial concepts to internal and external audiences must be articulated to non-financial business leaders in concise and understandable terms to influence and drive alignment and appropriate actions Data is used for decision-making, as well as internal and external reporting and communications. This also includes the preparation, interpretation, and alignment of financial data included in the business plans.
• The role requires the ability to work on strategic issues and new approaches need to be developed continuously to ensure correct commercial and business decisions are made.
• Participate in development and prioritization of business strategies and plans with cross functional teams.
• Ensure that the business is operating at optimal costs while achieving top and bottom-line goals.
• In this role, the employee will make decisions and as well provide advisory services on a daily basis. It is expected that the quality of advice and the transparency of presented ideas will enable the decision makers (budget holders) to accept most of the advice / suggestions.

Qualification / Requirements

• Minimum 6 years with relevant experience, with at least 2+ years' experience in a managerial role.
• CPA (or) MBA preferred, University/bachelor’s degree with suitable work experience.
• Ability to use computer applications as required – Microsoft applications, SAP, and others
• Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles and processes.
