Communications Security (COMSEC) Custodian

Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance  

Work Schedule: Onsite, Regional and OCONUS travel may be required.

Role Overview:

The COMSEC Custodian is responsible for the management, safeguarding, distribution, inventory, and destruction of classified COMSEC materials and equipment in accordance with government regulations. This role supports Tier-2 account operations and requires precision, reliability, and adherence to strict security protocols. The custodian must also assist with preparation for audits and inspections, coordinate logistics, and maintain accurate records and control of sensitive equipment and keys.

General Skillset

• Experience with Microsoft Office 
• Verbal and written communication skills 
• Ability to work both collaboratively and individually  
• Critical Thinking Skills 
• Ability to give presentations and briefings as needed 

Specific Skillset

• Demonstrated experience developing COMSEC Distribution Plan 
• Demonstrated experience in administrative tasks related to COMSEC including inventory and 
• Destruction of COMSEC materials and/or special access control devices 
• Demonstrated experience packaging, receiving, and transporting COMSEC materials 
• Demonstrated experience in preparation for audit/inspection of COMSEC account 

Education & Certifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Formal COMSEC Custodian or COMSEC Management training certification

Experience Requirements 

• 2+ years of demonstrated experience in the handling, safeguarding, and operating of COMSEC equipment and/or special access control devices and materials
