Company Accountant

Job Purpose

• As an accountant for Next Energy, you will be responsible to oversee the financial aspects of our operations
• You will be ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions and reports while adhering to relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly and in compliance with accounting principles.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment processing, and collections.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring performance against these plans.
• Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
• Analyse financial data and provide insights to support decision-making by the management team.
• Assist in the coordination of external audits and ensure all necessary documentation is provided to auditors.
• Monitor and manage cash flow, including forecasting cash needs and optimising cash positions.
• Review and control expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities where possible.
• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Ensuring Next Energy PO/PR excel are updated on a timely basis, standardise the naming of all incoming quotations / invoices and compilation of all related documents in the prepared folders.

Job Specification

• Candidates should possess at least a Diploma / Advanced Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or any related field.
• Professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
• 0-2 years related experience / fresh graduates are highly welcomed.

Technical/Functional skills

• Strong time management skills, able to prioritise and meet critical deadlines
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
• Good attention to detail
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• English Speaking (Other languages will be advantageous)
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and permitting processes
• Knowledge of renewable energy or sustainability practices is a plus
• Experience using Quickbooks Online is a plus
