Position Summary
We are seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) with hands-on experience in managing and optimizing database systems. The role involves ensuring performance, availability, and security of databases while supporting development and production environments.
Key Responsibilities
Database Administration & Maintenance
⢠Install, configure, and upgrade database systems (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or cloud-native databases)
⢠Apply patches, service packs, and version upgrades with minimal downtime
⢠Perform regular database backups, restoration, and disaster recovery planning
Performance & Optimization
⢠Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks
⢠Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies
⢠Plan capacity and ensure scalability of database systems
High Availability & Reliability
⢠Implement and maintain replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions
⢠Ensure database systems meet uptime and reliability requirements
Support & Collaboration
⢠Support developers with database design, query optimization, and troubleshooting
⢠Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and policies
Security & Compliance
⢠Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards
⢠Monitor and manage database access and security controls
Operation
⢠Provide on-call support for critical production systems (if required)
Requirements
⢠Minimum 3 years of experience in SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL administration
⢠Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimization
⢠Experience with backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions
Good to Have
⢠Exposure to VMware, Nutanix, or cloud platforms
⢠Understanding of virtualization and cloud infrastructure environment.
Working hours:
Mon to Fri 9am - 6pm
