Western Digital seeks a passionate, talented, and experienced industrial designer to bring bold, fresh ideas to our diverse, energetic design team. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead and bring new ideas and life to our brands. 

• Lead programs with creative synergy and adventurous outlook to bring bold, fresh ideas to the table from inception to end. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, user needs, and technical constraints, translating them into effective design solutions.
• Evangelize and demonstrate the importance of good design, brand values, and design language philosophies across all of our Brands. 
• Provide skill and expertise working with various design tools to complete projects, such as 3D CAD SolidWorks, Rhinoceros 3D, Autodesk Alias, 3D Rendering, Adobe Creative Suite, and MSFT Office, to bring projects and presentations to life.  
• Provide tactical management of projects, team coordination, and associated workflow productivity. 
• Communicate with stakeholders and vendors locally and abroad as needed. 
• Craft and organize all visual designs, written documents, and presentations with skill and efficacy for clients’ needs. 
• Demonstrate your understanding of the value of color, materials, and finishes in product design and engage with suppliers and vendors. 
• Develop detailed product specifications, including materials, colors, finishes, and manufacturing processes. 

Qualifications

•  Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or equivalent. 
• Must have 5+ years of recent and relevant industrial design experience. 
• Competency in digital tools – Adobe CC, 3D CAD, and rendering software.  
• Excellent hand sketching and form development skills. 
• Strong communication skills, including presentations to internal stakeholders 
• Great problem-solving and communication skills. 
• Ability to negotiate to facilitate solutions with vendors and or internal clients. 
• Ability to manage time on multiple projects is critical to success. 
• Must have a portfolio that showcases a thoughtful, creative process (sketches and models).
