JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Able to lead the sales & revenue team to achieve sales target. 
  2. Develop sales & marketing plan and ensure they are adhered to and follow through.
  3. Able to evaluate each market segment in response to market changes with appropriate action plan.
  4. Ensure each individual sales employee is aware of their target and goal achievement.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with bookers of various business market segments such as corporate, travel agent, government & others
  6. Evaluates and analyses all competitive conditions of other hotels, banquet facilities and restaurants within the locality and prime competition within the country (region), and make appropriate recommendations to the General Manager on an on-going basis.
  7. Properly implements the marketing plan organizing sales efforts to solicit business that fits the established business mix of the hotel.
  8. Implements adequate reporting procedures and submission on dateline to meet the requirements of the hotel and owning company.
  9. To conduct daily briefings, weekly sales and revenue meetings.
  10. Representation and participation in local trade and industry organization and such as Tourism Malaysia, Wedding Fair etc.
  11. Supervision of office staff and sales procedures to ensure proper and prompt handling of all communications, correspondence, file maintenance and follow-through.
  12. Co-ordination of sales activities with all other departments of the hotel, with particular emphasis on ensuring a good working relationship with the Front Office,,the Food & Beverage Departments.
  13. Preparation of all monthly sales reports, indicating the results of the past month’s sales activities and activities planned for the forthcoming month.
  14. Welcome and greet VIP guests arriving at Hotel whenever necessary.
  15. Submit monthly review of the top sales accounts for all market segments with estimated annual revenues, highlighting all account servicing activities.
  16. Ability to compile confidential competitor analysis and update same on an on-going basis.
  17. To manage selected hotel’s key accounts personally.
  18. To constantly monitor the On Line Travel Agent (OTA) and Internet Booking Engine (IBE) against competitor hotels to ensure hotel’s rate positioning is competitive in the market. 
  19. To implement sales strategies that is able to adapt to the latest changing market trends.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Sales & Marketing, MARCOM, Business Studies / Management, Hospitality / Tourism Management, or equivalent.
  2. Extensive knowledge of sales and proven ability to plan and execute sales target effectively with a strong sense of detail.
  3. Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in hospitality industry with proven sales track record.
  4. Ability to direct, lead, train, motivate and drive a direct sales team, and develop a cooperative and competitive team spirit and winning attitude. 
  5. Self-starter, goal oriented, eye for details and has an ability to drive change.
  6. Capable of creating and implementing sales strategies that will ensure achievement of set goals and target.
  7. Able to handle both rooms and catering functions.
  8. Possess good interpersonal skills with fluency in English, Malay, Chinese 
  9. Possess own transportation.
  10. Knowledge of current hospitality industry trends.
