EHS Specialist - Hiring Fast

We are looking for a dynamic and creative person to join our team.

You will play an important role in:-

• Develop and Implement Health & Safety Programs: Establish, develop, and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures to create a health & safe working environment for all employees.
• Conduct Inspections: Perform regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and work areas to identify potential hazards, ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, and compliance with machine maintenance requirements.
• Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential workplace hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
• Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, near misses, and safety incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence. File JKKP6 reports within 1 week of accidents. File JKKP8 reports on a yearly basis. 
• Attend to JKKP / DOSH / DOE / BOMBA officers when they come for routine visitations, audits, and plant tours. Know the facility well to ensure all questions are answered in a satisfactory manner. Respond to any queries and requests for improvement within 1 week of receiving JKKP/DOE/BOMBA letters (government instruction letter).
• Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and safety-related documentation. Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required. Hold quarterly safety committee meetings and take minutes. PPE is recorded properly. Monitor the maintenance of the machines with safety procedures are up to date and conducted on time. 
• BOMBA: Handle all BOMBA related activities such as quarterly inspections with vendor, ensure that all equipment is in functioning condition, attend to officers during their routine visitations and audits. 
• Handle the waste disposal of all chemicals with the company's certified vendor.
• Make sure information in myKKP, myPremis, eSWIS or any related government portal are up to date and accurate.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant safety regulations, codes, and standards issued by regulatory agencies such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and ensure organizational compliance.
• Safety Communication: Communicate safety policies, procedures, and initiatives to employees through meetings, memos, and training sessions to promote a culture of safety awareness. 
• Safety Committees: Collaborate with safety committees or teams to address safety concerns, implement safety initiatives, and promote employee engagement in safety efforts.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, first aid protocols, and crisis management plans.
• Handle all government visitation for any purposes related to safety and health.
• License or renewal for any documents related to JKKP to be conducted on time. All calibration, machine licensing, workplace inspection approval with good grade, NRA, CHRA or any have to renew prior before the expiration.
• Any communication from government officials MUST be forwarded to CGM to ensure that management is aware.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:-

• Diploma or Degree in Health and Safety or similar field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, experience dealing with JKKP/ DOE is preferred.
• Experience of ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001management system
• Certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) i.e Green Book holder and registered with Malaysian Department of Occupational Health and Safety (DOSH)
• Competent Scheduled Waste Personnel
• Well verse of Malaysian environment, safety and health legal requirements and emergency procedures
• Basic knowledge and use of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint is required.
