ELECTRICAL ENGINEER located at Penang - Urgent Role

Job Descriptions:

• Responsible for performing a wide range of electrical design tasks for projects in Singapore and Malaysia.
• Primary focus will be on designing switchboards, control panels, single-line diagrams, cable sizing, wiring layouts, and other electrical systems. 
• A deep understanding of the local electrical codes and regulations in both Singapore and Malaysia to ensure compliance with all relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design an engineering electrical system, including switchboards, control panels, distribution systems, and power installations, in accordance with project requirements and local electrical codes in Singapore and Malaysia.
• Develop detailed schematics, diagrams, and layouts using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. 
• Perform cable sizing calculations and voltage drop analysis to determine appropriate wire sizes and specifications for electrical installations, considering local code requirements.
• Create single-line diagrams and power distribution plans to illustrate the layout and connectivity of electrical components and systems.
• Design control panels and motor control centres (MCCs), specifying components and equipment based on project specifications and local regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical designs into overall project plans and specifications.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather information on existing electrical infrastructure and ensure alignment with design requirements and local codes.
• Review and interpret technical specifications, codes, and standards specific to Singapore and Malaysia, ensuring compliance throughout the design process.
• Provide technical support during the construction, installation, and commissioning phases of projects, addressing any electrical design-related issues that may arise.
• Stay updated on changes to local electrical codes and regulations in Singapore and Malaysia, and incorporate relevant updates into design practices and project documentation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience of 5 years in electrical design, with a focus on switchboards, control panels, and power distribution systems.
• In-depth knowledge of local electrical codes and regulations in both Singapore and Malaysia, with a minimum of [insert number] years of experience working on projects in these regions.
• Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design, such as AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including circuit analysis, power distribution, and control systems.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure is a plus.
