Equity Portfolio Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Equity Portfolio Manager to join our team at RHB Asset Management. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring equity portfolios and security holdings, working closely with the Chief Investment Office – Equity to align on strategy, performance, and risk levels in accordance with client mandate parameters. You will play a key role in driving investment performance, mentoring analysts, and supporting client engagement initiatives.

What you will be doing

• Manage and monitor portfolios and security holdings, ensuring alignment with agreed investment strategies and client mandates

• Collaborate with the Chief Investment Office – Equity on portfolio strategy, performance, and risk positioning

• Coach and develop research analysts to enhance their capabilities and drive consistent, high-quality investment outcomes

• Participate actively in Equity Meetings and contribute actionable investment insights

• Support marketing and client engagement efforts by presenting investment strategies and solutions to prospective and existing clients

• Ensure all mandates and funds are managed in strict accordance with client instructions and fund prospectuses

• Drive fund performance with the objective of achieving top two quartiles for Unit Trust mandates and top quartile for institutional mandates

• Monitor portfolio investment and liquidity risks, ensuring appropriate risk management practices are in place

• Administer advisory and outsourced funds in line with internal and external requirements

What we're looking for

• Strong experience in portfolio management, equity research, or asset management

• Proven track record of managing investment portfolios and delivering consistent performance

• Deep understanding of equity markets, investment strategies, and risk management principles

• Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop high-performing teams

• Excellent analytical and decision-making capabilities

• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders

• High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability

• Strong knowledge of capital markets, particularly in Malaysia
