Job Description
- Plan, prepare and execute events with a team.
- Work closely with clients, understand their needs, manage their expectations, provide regular updates to the client, and act in the best interest of the company and its client
- Prepare and execute event registration and logistics
- Prepare event timeline, event order and requirements checklist for the team, vendors and client
- Work with team members and vendors in manage the timelines and deliveries
- Manage and liaise with partners such as event organizers, vendors, internal stakeholders and external joint partners, ensuring all communication are clear and accurate
- Ensure all services, equipment and materials required for the event are available and prepared accordingly
- Encourage, train and develop juniors and freelancers
- Domestic and international travel required
- Monitor project expenses, stay within budget and ensure targeted gross margins are met
Requirement
1. Event Planning Expertise: The candidate should have a proven track record of planning successful events, from conceptualization to execution. This includes coordinating logistics and overseeing all aspects of event planning.
2. Organizational Skills: An effective event manager must be highly organized, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, timelines, and resources simultaneously. They should be detail-oriented and adept at creating and maintaining schedules.
3. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for an event manager to effectively liaise with clients, vendors and team members.
4. Problem-Solving Abilities: Events often encounter unforeseen challenges, and the ability to think quickly on their feet and resolve issues calmly is essential for an event manager. They should be proactive in identifying potential problems and implementing effective solutions.
5. Creativity: A creative mindset is valuable for developing unique event concepts, themes, and experiences that resonate with the target audience. The candidate should be able to innovate and think outside the box to deliver memorable events.
6. Flexibility and Adaptability: Events can be unpredictable, so the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and manage last-minute adjustments is essential. The candidate should remain calm under pressure and be flexible in accommodating client needs and preferences.
7. Strategic Marketing Skills: Ability to develop comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with business objectives, incorporating events as part of the overall marketing mix.
