JOB POSITION: EVENT SERVICE MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: FOOD & BEVERAGE
LOCATION : 5 STAR HOTEL, KUANTAN
SALARY: RM4,000 - RM5,000
JOB DESCRIPTION:
An Event Services Manager oversees every aspect of events held at a venue, ranging from food service and menu selection to entertainment coordination. This role encompasses managing various activities, such as meetings and conferences. Responsibilities include organizing catering for venues that do not provide these services, liaising with vendors, and supervising the overall event execution. Additionally, duties involve meeting with clients prior to the event to discuss expenses and logistics, ensuring seamless operations. This position entails handling both informal and formal events.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate all aspects of event planning, considering requirements, target audience, and objectives.
- Propose ideas to optimize event outcomes and prepare and manage budgets accordingly.
- Source vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts as needed. Oversee personnel hiring, including DJs and waitstaff.
- Manage all event operations and lead promotional efforts.
- Supervise staff such as event coordinators and caterers.
- Approve all elements prior to the event day.
- Ensure smooth event execution and address any issues promptly.
- Evaluate event success and compile reports afterward.
- Ensure seamless operation of all event logistics including catering, venue, and equipment during the event.
- Develop a budget and coordination plan for the event.
- Obtain necessary permits for hosting the event.
- Establish relationships with vendors and negotiate service rates.
- Design booth layouts and other venue arrangements.
- Communicate with attendees regarding any last-minute venue or parking changes if required.
- Develop contingency plans for emergencies.
- Manage post-event marketing communications such as thank-you emails and customer evaluation surveys.
JOB REQUIREMENT:
- At least 2years of experience working as an Outlet Manager or Assistant Manager in a hotel or upscale restaurant with high standards is required.
- Experience in overseeing banquet services is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience as an event manager is essential.
- Proficiency in project management is necessary.
- Familiarity with key performance indicators (KPIs) and marketing strategies for event management is beneficial.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office, are required.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills are essential.
- Excellent organizational abilities are crucial.
- Proficiency in problem-solving is important.
- A customer-service mindset is necessary.
- Being a collaborative team player with leadership qualities is important.
- A Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
