Executive, Shariah Compliance - Urgent Hiring

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, assess, review and monitor the compliance of the IFI’s business operations and activities with Shariah.
• Report to the BOD, Shariah Committee and senior management regularly on Shariah non-compliance issues and findings.
• Inform and provide updates to the BOD, Shariah Committee and senior management on the latest developments in legal and regulatory requirements in Islamic finance, especially in relation to issuance of the Shariah Advisory Council (SAC) rulings.
• Ensure adequate training and guidance are provided to the officers of an IFI on relevant Shariah requirements governing the IFI’s operations, business, affairs and activities.
• Perform compliance monitoring and testing.
• Participate in the implementation of Non Financial Risk Assessment (NFRA).
• Prepare issuance of compliance newsletter to foster strong compliance culture.
• Assist Manager Compliance to conduct monthly Compliance Ambassador (CA) session to provide CAs with the necessary knowledge, updates and tools to assist them in their daily compliance related responsibilities.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Possess strong interpersonal skills and able to interact well at all levels.
• Must possess recognized degree in Shariah, Islamic Banking/Takaful or any related discipline with exposure and knowledge in Usul Fiqh and Fiqh Muamalat with a minimum 3 years working experience;
• Recognised professional certification in Shariah/Islamic Finance would be an advantage
• Has have sound understanding of relevant Shariah requirements applicable to Islamic financial business
• Knowledge of the regulatory requirements and practices of the Takaful/Insurance industry.
