Facilities Manager - Malaysia

About the Role:

Brooks is a prominent leader in the Semiconductor industry, known for our innovative technology and sustainable solutions. As part of our strategic expansion in Malaysia, we are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee our Greenfield manufacturing site in Johor Bahru.

The ideal candidate will have several years of relevant experience and will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, security, and operations of our manufacturing facility. This role requires a proactive leader who can ensure that our facilities operate smoothly and efficiently, supporting our production and operational goals. As the main contact for day-to-day operations at our JB site, you will work closely across multiple departments to ensure business growth and operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the manufacturing facility and e nsure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all facility systems and equipment.

• Manage facility budgets, including forecasting and cost control.

• Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of ISO 6,7 & 8 Cleanrooms.

• Ensure all equipment failures are identified , investigated, and resolved appropriately.

• Recognize, escalate, and ensure resolution of operational, quality, or financial concerns of department.

• Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainability programs ; p lan and execute facility upgrades, renovations, and space management.

• Re view and update SOPs, Protocols, Forms, etc., and promote continuous process improvement.

• Manage facilities project work including the coordination of on-site contractors, delivery, installation and commissioning of equipment and the over-site of project capital budgets.

• Work with Global Facilities team to provide subject matter expertise on equipment and systems including, but not limited to calibration equipment, computerized maintenance management system, electrical & plumbing infrastructure, cleanrooms and/or HVAC equipment.

• Prepare and present reports on facility operations, including performance metrics and improvement recommendations.

• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies :

• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field with 8-10 years of relevant experience in a similar facilities management role

• Manufacturing / Semiconducto r industry experience preferr ed

• Strong knowledge of facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical & cleanroom systems.

• Proven experience in managing large-scale facility projects and budgets.

• Excellent understanding of safety, health, and environmental regulations.

• Capable of responding to after-hours emergencies to ensure integrity of facility and products are maintained ; able to participat e in on call responsibilities (24/7 response when on call)

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Ability to lift 50lbs
