Finance Manager (Construction)

Key Responsibilities:

Project Finance Execution

• Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and monitor expenditures in real time.
  

• Conduct hands-on financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  

• Track and manage cash flow; prepare regular financial reports.
  

• Perform cost variance analysis and update tracking mechanisms accordingly.
  

Financial Modeling & Profitability Analysis

• Participate in the preparation and review of financial models for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  

• Analyze risks, profitability, and cost implications of design or scope changes.
  

• Perform scenario planning and trend analysis to guide project decisions.
  

Cost Documentation & Claims Support

• Maintain meticulous cost records and documentation.
  

• Analyze subcontractor claims, validate cost-related aspects, and assist with claims substantiation.
  

• Ensure accurate cost allocation and support change order evaluations.
  

Banking Compliance & Reporting

• Prepare and submit financial reports for banking and lender compliance.
  

• Handle documentation for loan draw downs and financial certifications.
  

• Address external stakeholder inquiries and maintain proper audit trails.
  

Team Collaboration & Financial Guidance

• Provide direction and technical support to junior finance staff as needed.
  

• Work cross-functionally to ensure project financials align with business goals.
  

• Contribute financial expertise across various business units during peak periods.
  

Cross-Divisional Engagement

• Support finance tasks for other business arms on an ad-hoc basis.
  

• Share construction finance best practices with teams in other sectors.
  

• Contribute to company-wide knowledge-sharing and process improvement.
  

Requirements:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  

• Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) are an advantage.
  

Experience

• Over 7 years of finance experience, with a minimum of 5 years in construction or infrastructure sectors.
  

• Demonstrated hands-on involvement in financial operations and reporting for large-scale projects.
  

• Familiarity with cost control and financial governance within engineering or project-based environments.
  

Technical Skills

• Advanced MS Excel and strong financial modelling capabilities.
  

• Proficient in accounting and construction management systems.
  

• Understanding of contract terms, cost estimation, and quantity surveying.
