We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting and Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should possess a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, budgetary management, taxation, fixed assets, inventory, cash management, accounts payable/receivable, and costing. This role involves leading a team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and liaising with external auditors, tax agents, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and reports for accuracy and compliance with reporting standards (including trial balance, statements of financial position, comprehensive income, cash flow, and audit schedules).
- Review, analyze, and interpret management reports prior to submission to management and the parent company.
- Liaise closely with external auditors for year-end audit work, providing necessary schedules, documents, and draft financial statements.
- Ensure the accurate and timely submission of monthly financial and management reports by the 7th of each month.
Budgetary Management
- Coordinate budget preparation meetings with all departments.
- Compile budget materials and facilitate challenge meetings with departments for OPEX and CAPEX budgeting, in line with new business and project requirements.
- Justify budget requests during department meetings.
- Monitor monthly OPEX and CAPEX utilization against the approved Annual Management Plan (AMP).
Taxation
- Prepare monthly tax estimates and provisions.
- Review and forecast tax payable at the 6th and 9th month for any necessary revisions.
- Analyze company expenditures to maximize tax savings and minimize liabilities before monthly tax provision.
- Liaise with external tax agents for annual tax returns preparation.
Fixed Assets Management
- Review and verify fixed asset acquisition, disposal, and transfer forms for management approval.
- Organize and coordinate fixed assets tagging and audit activities at all plants.
Inventory Management
- Review and analyze inventory movement and aging reports for monthly closing.
- Propose provisions for long-aging and obsolete materials, with departmental justification.
- Coordinate quarterly and year-end stock take activities.
- Review and analyze monthly NRV test reports on standard cost versus selling price.
Cash Management and Financing
- Monitor daily cash transactions, cash positions, short-term investments, and credit facilities.
- Seek new project capital expenditure requirements from existing and potential local banks.
- Liaise with bankers for financial assistance applications for new projects.
Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Review and monitor payment terms and collections.
- Address and resolve issues with suppliers and customers promptly.
Costing
- Monitor and coordinate cost control initiatives.
- Conduct and update components cost analysis.
- Review and ensure accuracy of product cost standards and quotations.
- Provide performance analysis, including variance to budget/forecast and manufacturing expenses.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives for manufacturing operations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure smooth daily operations for a team of 19 staff.
- Conduct meetings with external parties, including customers, suppliers, and inter-department personnel to resolve issues promptly.
- Serve as the coordinator for special assignments, such as the winding down activities of subsidiary HAP Thai.
- Management and statutory financial reporting.
- AMP preparation.
- Annual Company Tax Computation.
- Annual budget preparation as finance department needs to consolidate all the figures from various departments mainly on KPI/MCM report preparation.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. ACCA/MICPA and member of MIA is preferred.
- Extensive experience in accounting and finance roles, with a proven track record in managing teams.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, and other stakeholders.
