Finance Manager (Pharmaceutical)

As the pioneer finance person in the country, you will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining the financial operations, ensuring smooth compliance with local regulations. You will report directly to the Managing Director (MD) and be responsible for all aspects of accounting in Malaysia.

Description

Manage the full financial accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and fixed assets.Prepare accurate and timely financial statements according to Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.Ensure timely and accurate tax filing and compliance with all relevant Malaysian tax regulations.Liaise with external auditors and address their queries efficiently.Manage payroll processing for Malaysian employees, ensuring compliance with labor laws.Develop and maintain strong relationships with local authorities.Assist the MD with financial budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.Stay up-to-date on changes to Malaysian accounting regulations and tax laws.

Profile

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA certification a strong plus).Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar accounting role. Proven experience with the full accounting cycle and financial reporting according to MFRS.Strong understanding of Malaysian tax regulations and compliance procedures.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government authorities.Proficient in accounting softwareFluency in Mandarin (deal with Taiwan finance team), English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential.
