We are eager to add a strategic Financial Controller to join our multidisciplinary team at PERTAMA DIGITAL BERHAD in Subang Jaya, Selangor.

Support and lead units of PDB’s Group Finance Division as a centralized function to be shared with all companies in which PDB holds shares, utilizing resources already available as much as possible. 

This includes:

  • providing leadership to the finance team while building capability, nurturing a proactive culture of compliance and fostering a focused, team-oriented and effective finance team that adds value as business partners to the PDB group.
  • formulating and implementing internal controls and group policies (including Shariah-compliant transfer pricing framework, employee share option scheme (if any), finance standard operating procedures for reporting and governance, etc.) without affecting the generality of the foregoing, specifically to do the following:
  • determine principles, mechanisms and rates for inter-company management fees especially those to be charged by PDB to the companies in which it holds shares, that receive centralized corporate services (e.g. finance, human capital management and administration, legal, corporate communications, etc.) from PDB.
  • set an inter-company financing rate that is compliant with Shariah and transfer pricing benchmark (and to procure and complete a transfer pricing study where necessary).
  • implement suitable cloud-based accounting software and system.
  • putting in place reporting systems, policies, procedures and templates.
  • charting financial reporting deliverables.
  • Financial Management
  • Control AR & AP (Cash collections & payment to suppliers)
  • Consolidate cash in/cash out
  • Monthly tax return ( SST/GST input and SST/GST output)
  • Understand the process of submission of documents to tax requirements.
  • Monitor purchase office supplies, equipment, and office stationery.
  • Monthly financial report
  • Bookkeeping all expenses and revenue into accounting applications.
  • Maintain cash in the bank with properly used for payment.
  • Report all accounting cycles, transactions, chart of accounts, other related tax obligations.
  • Control and Managed petty cash both Operations & Admin.
  • Work closely with business leaders to provide financial counsel, support for decision-making and in-depth financial and operational analysis including on investment strategies and funding, corporate exercises, cash flow management and distribution of earnings.
  • Participate in corporate exercises such as acquisitions and disposals, including due diligence, feasibility studies, impact assessment, etc.
  • Participate in stakeholder engagement exercises.
  • Provide to PDB accurate and meaningful financial information, interpretive and value-added guidance, standard reporting and data compilation.
  • Guide the PDB team on regulatory financial compliance and ethics.
  • Ensure proper processes are in place for the accurate forecasting of sales, costs, working capital and return on investments.
  • Manage strategic and financial planning activities of PDB including tax planning and compliance, budget formulation and tracking, cashflow forecasting and projections and treasury management, business plan, as well as reporting in compliance with regulations.
  • Attend to regulators’ requests for information or justification from the finance angle.
  • Manage timely completion of external audit (if started), guide resolution of audit issues and present findings to PDB’s board of directors.
  • Liaise with financiers and other external consultants on PDB’s financial affairs, taking advantage of your network and experience.
  • Keep abreast of accounting standards, economic and industry trends, and update PDB’s board and senior management of the developments and impact, from time to time.
  • Drive business financial performance and cost improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts, quarterly financial statements and reports for operational management and regulatory compliance for PDB group, subject to any change in the regularity of such accounting/reporting.
  • Attend to housekeeping on the financial matters of the PDB group of companies to ensure proper records, standards, procedures and compliance, from time to time.
  • Others
  • Assigned projects, assignments or tasks given by the Financial Controller/CFO when required.
  • Actively involved and part of the lead team in the process of Mergers & Acquisitions and any other business expansion strategies/plans.
  • Ensure the maximization and utilization of online, remote working, company systems and applications to improve the effectiveness of Group’s operations.

 

Work Experiences & Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. A master's degree in Finance or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience PLC business environment at least 5 years’ experience in finance and accounting
  • Demonstrable supervisory experience of administrative staff
  • Good understanding of accounting principles including accrual accounting, reconciliations, preparedness to learn more complex principles
  • Proficient level in English language for both speaking and writing
  • Familiar with G-Suite Applications and using online conference calls, performance, tracking and communication applications.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills, negotiation skills, strategic planning, organizational skills, critical thinking, and effective communication.
  • Excellent numeric skills
  • Excellent quality, attention to detail, & organisational skills
  • Ability to analyse situations and take corrective actions
  • Commitment to process of continuous improvement
  • Possess good strategic and business analytical thinking for opportunities and development.
  • Demonstrates good work ethics, integrity and principles.

  • Expresses good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
