The position drives continuous improvement and automation initiatives using Vale-approved technologies to enhance process efficiency, control, accuracy and standardization. The role is also responsible for supporting accurate and timely financial accounting, group reporting, statutory reporting, billing, balances reconciliation and audit activities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Automation and Process Improvements
· Evaluate existing accounting and finance processes to identify opportunities for standardization, simplification and automation
· Design, develop, test, implement and maintain scalable automation solutions using Vale IT – approved technologies and platforms
· Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to translate requirements into sustainable, technology-enabled solutions
· Ensure automated processes are appropriately documented, controlled, accurate, secure and auditable
· Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to support financial reporting, monitoring, analysis and decision-making
· Coordinate user acceptance testing, implementation and post-deployment monitoring of automation and system enhancement initiatives
· Promote knowledge sharing and provide guidance to users on the effective adoption of implemented solutions.
Accounting and Finance
· Prepare, review and post monthly journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, appropriate supporting documentation and compliance with applicable accounting requirements
· Prepare, validate and submit monthly financial reporting packages through Vale’s consolidation and reporting systems, including HFM and/or SAC, ensuring accuracy, completeness and adherence to corporate reporting deadlines.
· Manage daily iron ore billing activities, including follow-up, invoice printing, purchase order number input and validation against closing documents and Bills of Lading prior to distribution to relevant stakeholders
· Issue Teluk Rubiah Maritime Terminal (“TRMT”) invoices based on approved sales orders received from the Operations team, and coordinate the submission of invoices to shipping agents, typically on a weekly batch basis
· Manage and monitor the validity of intercompany agreements, ensuring timely renewal, extension or execution of replacement agreements before expiry
· Prepare and post monthly billings
· Prepare and post quarterly intercompany billings, in accordance with approved agreements, supporting documentation and reporting timelines
· Perform balance reconciliations and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of outstanding items
· Prepare annual financial statements in compliances with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), statutory requirements and applicable regulatory guidelines
· Coordinate and liaise with external auditors on audit-related matters, ensuring timely provision of information, resolution of audit queries and completion of audit requirements.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in financial accounting, reporting, or a related finance function
· Demonstrated experience in finance transformation, process improvement, and the identification and implementation of automation opportunities within finance operations
· Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications, with experience in project coordination and user acceptance testing
· Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or MFRS, internal controls and financial reporting requirements with strong experience in general accounting, reporting, financial close and statutory compliance
· Experienced with HFM, SAC, Power BI, Power Automate, or other Vale-approved technology platforms would be an advantage
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate accounting issues, investigate discrepancies and recommend practical solutions
· Good command of written and spoken English
· Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork and stakeholder-management skills
· Meticulous and detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to accuracy, compliance and timely delivery
· Ability to exercise sound judgement and initiative, manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results with minimal supervision
