The Hostess is the welcoming face of the dining experience, creating a gracious and memorable first impression for every guest. With warmth, elegance, and genuine hospitality, the role ensures seamless guest seating, attentive coordination, and personalized engagement throughout the dining journey. The Hostess upholds the exceptional service standards, managing reservations and guest flow with professionalism, poise, and attention to detail. Working collaboratively with the restaurant and culinary teams, the role contributes to a refined and elevated dining atmosphere that exceeds guest expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome guests with warmth, professionalism, and personalized attention in line with service standards
• Manage restaurant reservations, seating arrangements, and guest flow efficiently and accurately
• Escort guests to their tables while providing engaging and attentive service throughout the arrival experience
• Maintain thorough knowledge of restaurant offerings, operating hours, promotions, and special events
• Coordinate closely with restaurant and culinary teams to ensure smooth and seamless dining operations
• Anticipate guest preferences and respond promptly to inquiries, requests, and special occasions
• Handle guest feedback and waiting lists professionally, ensuring a positive and memorable experience
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the hostess stand and reception area
• Support daily administrative tasks, including reservation management systems and guest communication
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, grooming, and confidentiality at all times

Required Skills

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage guests from diverse backgrounds
• Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficiency in managing reservation systems and guest databases
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused when handling guest concerns or challenging situations
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
• Flexibility and adaptability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Experience

• Proven experience in a hospitality, customer service, or guest-facing role (minimum 1-2 years preferred)
• Demonstrated experience working in fast-paced, high-volume environments
• Experience coordinating with multiple departments to ensure operational efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Multilingual abilities (English, Malay preferred for the Johor Bahru location)
• Experience with reservation management software or point-of-sale systems
• Knowledge of F&B operations and hospitality standards
• Certification in hospitality or customer service training
