As a Fresh Division Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of fresh food department within the stores. This includes Plan, organize, direct and control all activities related to the selling of specific product lines to ensure attainment of objectives and targets within the acceptable cost and shrinkage.

 

People

  • Recruit, train and supervise a team of associates in the fresh food department.
  • Ensure staff efficiency and productivity by motivating them to provide quality service.
  • Provide coaching and support team members and assess the job quality of each individual to help enhance the performance.
  • Ensure the staff are knowledgeable about the products and are helpful to serve the customer.
  • Develop a staff scheduling according to the demand sales, product delivery, promotion and seasonal events to ensure optimal staff to deliver the activities.
  • Manages team performance on going refer to business objectives and customer satisfaction – fostering continuous improvement and growth of the team in the department.

 

Assets, Equipment and Hygiene Management

  • Ensure the assets and equipment proper functioning to preserve the freshness and safety of the fresh items.
  • Ensuring the equipment in the preparation and processing of fresh food items meet the safety and hygiene standards.
  • Monitor and manage the maintenance and safety of tools used in the preparation of fresh food – for cutting and slicing equipment.
  • Ensure that the display and merchandising equipment are well maintained to promote freshness and quality of products.

 

Merchandising Management

  • Monitor and order right volumes of stocks to meet the customer demands and sales and to ensure that cost and shrinkage is within or lower than the acceptable level.
  • Ensure receiving accurately and right quality according to standard specifications to ensure high-quality products on display and promote sales.
  • Ensure products are storage in the right place, right temperature and date coding after receiving process to protect the cold chain and preserve the freshness.
  • Ensure optimal store conditions thru effective merchandise presentation according to layout, right equipment, right conditions, accurate and competitive pricing, right service and store standards within company policies and guidelines.
  • Maintain the assurance of high quality of fresh food products by checking the products with expiration dates and following the FIFO (First in First Out) inventory rotation method.
  • Reviews and checks price tags / price cards / signage of merchandise of both weighted and non-weighted products.
  • Ensure and monitor the Bakery production plan is updated and follow throughout the day to help manage availability and waste.
  • Focus on ensuring a team of Associate have deep understanding of the unique qualities and characteristics of Lotuss OWN BRAND products and capable of effectively presenting them to customers.

 

Financial Management

  • Monitor and analyse trends of the fresh department to identify opportunities to deliver the sales and profit goals.
  • Monitor and analyse waste and shrinkage data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Control and manage product date code check and stock inventory to meet set targets and manage losses to meet set target and minimize them promptly.

 

Customer Management

  • Ensure excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving any issue promptly.
  • Implement a strategy to enhance the customer shopping experience in the fresh food department.
  • Focus on ensuring that each customer is satisfied with their shopping experience, addressing their concerns or issues, and facilitating customer feedback and returns. Build customer satisfaction through excellent service and interactions with customers, guiding them to find what they need and going the extra mile to assist customers in their shopping journey.

 

Sales

  • Plans and implements innovations and promotional activities to improve Fresh Food sales.
  • Monitors competitors’ price, assortments and keeps up-to-date with their promotional activities and latest product lines which would affect the department’s sales.
  • Reviews Daily Sales Tracking Report and Monthly Sales Report.
  • Ensures quality customer service by attending to complaints, inquiries and suggestions.
  • B2B, HORECA customers

 

Inventory

  • Coordinates closely with the LFDC/Suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, proper pricing, adequate stocks and availability of the latest product lines; recommends addition to article assortment.
  • Monitors regularly and ensures that problem stocks (over/understock/ inventory discrepancy) are acted upon.
  • Minimize shrinkage by recommending phase-out, mark-downs and special sales.
  • Checks, monitors, and reviews Daily Stock Corrections.
  • Checks and approves GRN and Credit Notes.
  • Oversees the conduct of the department cycle and annual stock takes and resolved any discrepancy in data gathered.

 

Others

  • Prepares the Monthly Sales Report
  • Ensures adherence to standard operating procedures, FIFO, and Quality Control
  • Maintains good housekeeping in the selling floor
  • Conducts store visits to improve merchandising
  • Coordinates with other departments regarding display area and manpower sharing
  • Ensures proper documentation of all transactions
  • Performs other duties as maybe assigned
  • Follows up by ensuring fresh Daily Checklist & Temperature controls are done

 

 

Requirements:-

  • Bachelor/Degree in Food Science or Food Technology or any related field to agriculture/fisheries and veterinary service.
  • Have a least 4 years’ experience in fresh food department of a supermarket or related food industry.
  • Able to communicate in English and Bahasa Melayu.
