Role Overview

Deliver features across the stack — Java/Spring Boot microservices on the back end and modern web front ends — for banking products used by internal and customer-facing teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain both back-end microservices (Java/Spring Boot) and front-end interfaces
• Integrate front-end applications with microservice and event-driven back-end APIs
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle — design, build, test, deploy
• Collaborate with Lead and Senior Developers on architecture and implementation decisions
• Write clean, tested, maintainable code across the stack

Required Experience & Skills

• Java 21 (LTS) with working knowledge of Java 25/26 language and platform features
• Spring Boot for building and deploying production microservices
• Microservices architecture — service decomposition, API design, containerisation
• Event-driven architecture — messaging/streaming platforms (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ or equivalent)
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tooling is strongly preferred
• Front-end development experience (e.g. React, Angular or similar modern framework)
• Comfortable moving between back-end and front-end work within a single sprint

Other Requirements

• Based in Malaysia, eligible to work in Kuala Lumpur without sponsorship
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin (written and spoken)
• Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience with microservices architecture
• Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience with event-driven architecture
• Strong understanding of secure coding and data-handling practices appropriate to a regulated banking environment
