Engineering Specialist - Your future position?

As the Engineering Specialist , you will plan and manage the inspection and maintenance of facilities, related infrastructure, electrical and mechanical equipment, as well as production machinery to ensure that the site runs operations without undesired disruptions and at optimal capacity level. You will report to the Head of Operations (T&W) Malaysia, and will be based in Ayer Keroh, Melaka.

Sounds interesting? In this exciting role you also will be responsible in:

• Contribute to Operations business plan and/or functional strategies by providing input on production capacity, maintenance schedules, equipment upgrades, and spare parts inventory.


• Lead a team of maintenance specialists which executes maintenance activities, typically for a small/medium site.


• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance plans to ensure reliability of plant equipment and minimize downtime.


• Manage maintenance resources, requirements and budgets while coordinating supplier relationships with Procurement team.


• Conduct regular audits/inspections to ensure compliance with EHS and Quality standards.


• Identify and implement improvement initiatives to enhance safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.


• Provide technical support for engineering projects, equipment trials, and process changes.


• Support team performance, development, and training initiatives to build capability within Maintenance.


• Execute the annual operating plan within approved budget.

Your professional profile includes:

• University degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related field;


• 5–7 years of experience within food/flavours or chemical-related manufacturing industries, ideally within a MNC or matrix organization.


• Team supervision or leadership experience (up to 2 years) would be good-to-have.


• Proven expertise in process engineering; Managing engineering projects from design through commissioning, including processes, utilities, and building systems.


• Prior exposure of being in a Site Engineer role in a similar manufacturing setup.


• Strong knowledge of project management, Lean tools (TPM, Six Sigma, KPIs), and continuous improvement methods.


• Skilled in stakeholder management, communication, and process design.


• Good understanding of EHS standards, financial concepts (OPEX, CAPEX), and systems such as SAP.


• Certification in Plant Engineering or Maintenance is advantageous, not mandatory.


• Good project management skills, besides communication & stakeholder management skills.


• Comfortable working in diverse, multicultural environments.
