Join us as Senior Accountant / General Ledger Accountant in our Excellence Centre, you will play a crucial role in processing and managing general ledgers for countries in the APAC region, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations. You will be responsible for maintaining positive relationships with partners and suppliers of DHI companies and colleagues within DHI. Responsibilities and challenges

• Prepare journal entries - Record daily financial transactions through journals and vouchers, and complete the posting process. Gathering supporting documentation and performing recordkeeping.
• Reconcile accounts - Reconciling accounts with the general ledger. Maintain accurate financial records and statements.
• Analyse financial information - Assess financial data to identify risks. Assist in the review of expenses, payroll records, and other financial documents.
• Monthly and Annual closure processes - Ensure timely month-end actual closing in line with Group guidelines. Support in monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
• Commitment to compliance - Ensure compliance with local regulatory tax payments deadlines and assist in tax audits and the preparation of tax returns. Engage actively in both external and internal audits. Lead the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports, staying in line with both legal requirements and company's accounting guidelines. Abide by local GAAP and ensure proper accounting policies and principles are followed and meet professional and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with other departments to gather transaction details, investigate reconciling items, and address problems.
• Collaborate with payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects and management inquiries.

Qualifications and personal skills

• Holds an educational background in finance, preferably a Bachelor's degree, or possesses equivalent experience.
• Conversant in domestic and international accounting standards and tax compliance
• Comprehensive expertise in tax regimes, e.g. GST, VAT, SST, and WHT
• Background in multinational corporation (MNC) financial frameworks; prior engagement with financial operations for countries in Asia/Pacific (Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand or others), or other global territories is advantageous
• Preference given to candidates with auditing backgrounds in audit firms focused on compliance and control measures.
• Exhibits strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Is detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy with a service-first mindset
• A good team player and showcases an open-minded, enthusiastic and responsible attitude.
• Communicate effectively in English (both speaking and writing)
• Able to work independently and under time pressure to meet reporting deadlines
