Global Trade Compliance Manager (Shipping HS code)

• Oversee end -to -end international trade flows at a global level without direct involvement in daily clearance
  
• Ensure local teams comply with global trade and regulatory standards
  
• Analyze data to identify operational bottlenecks, compliance risks, and improvement opportunities
  
• Resolve complex, high -impact issues beyond local team capabilities
  
• Develop high -level dashboards and reports to provide visibility to senior management
  
  Process Transformation & Automation
  
• Assess and understand current manual workflows within GTPC operations
  
• Identify opportunities to replace manual processes with automated systems
  
• Design and implement automation strategies to improve efficiency and accuracy
  
• Collaborate with IT and global stakeholders to develop digital solutions and reduce human error
  
• Drive transformation from manual “checking” processes to exception -based management
  
  Research & Strategic Advisory
  
• Lead research on new trade lanes, regulatory changes, and duty optimization strategies (HTS/FTA)
  
• Develop and standardize global trade playbooks and best practices
  
• Provide expert advisory to internal stakeholders on trade compliance and optimization
  
• Foster strong collaboration across departments to improve workflow efficiency
  
  Leadership & Ownership
  
• Lead and develop a team of Assistant Managers and Executives
  
• Drive the team’s transition from operational execution to analytical and strategic roles
  
• Take full ownership of the GTPC roadmap and continuous improvement initiatives
  
• Influence and align local teams with global strategies and system adoption
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
  
• Minimum 5 years of experience in global trade, import/export regulations, and compliance
  
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, HS classification, rules of origin, FTA, and customs valuation
  
• Experience in FMCG industry (e.g., food, retail) is an added advantage
  
• Proven leadership experience with strong people management skills
  
• Excellent analytical thinking with a data -driven mindset
  
• Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken)
  
• Ability to understand Mandarin is an added advantage
