Grinder (Oil & Gas Projects)

For this role, we are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable oil and gas company operating in Malaysia.

The Grinder position plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality finishing of welded joints, accurate preparation for welding, and maintaining fabrication standards. This opportunity is ideal for candidates who take pride in precision, safety, and teamwork within a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform grinding and finishing work on metal surfaces after welding.
  
• Prepare bevels, remove slag, and smooth edges prior to welding operations.
  
• Align and coordinate tasks closely with welders to ensure accuracy and project efficiency.
  
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, reporting any defects promptly.
  
• Adhere to strict safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  
• Report daily duties and progress to the supervisor and foreman.
  
• Support other fabrication tasks as required by project demands.
  

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Grinder in the fabrication or oil & gas sector.
  
• Familiarity with grinder operations, bevel preparation, and welding support tasks.
  
• Ability to follow instructions, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures.
  
• Physically fit and able to work in workshop or site conditions.
  
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)

• Previous experience in large-scale oil & gas fabrication projects.
  
• Knowledge of basic welding techniques and metalwork processes.
  
• Ability to read and interpret simple fabrication drawings.
  
• Multi-tasking skills and willingness to assist in related workshop tasks.
  
• Valid safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, site safety passport).
  

What We Offer

• Competitive hourly wage: RM12/hour.
  
• Standard working hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday).
