1) JOB DESCRIPTION
Clinical
Priorities and manage his/ her own clinical work.
Identity and obtain the necessary clinical, medical and/or other surgical history in order to carry out medical examination.
Perform a thorough examination for all patients according to the MMC and hospital guidelines for primary care and emergency medicine.
Identify patients that are considered high risk and make any necessary referrals to other specialized health care professionals as required.
Promptly communicate to other healthcare professionals any significant abnormalities detected during patient assessment and follow hospital and MMC policies and procedures regarding action.
Perform necessary diagnostic procedures and clinical tests available at hospital. Produce reports on investigations performed and complete the appropriate documentation for the necessary authorities.
Provide full explanation to patients, their families and appropriate others. Demonstrate competency in the above procedures.
Responds to all emergency calls, when on duty.
Administration
To provide leadership, planning, organization, staffing, coordinating, and evaluation for emergency department activities.
Responsible for all medical administration, personnel, and activities in the emergency department.
Has the responsibility for ensuring the ethical practice of emergency medicine within the department.
Directly supervises and has responsibility for emergency Medical Officer in clinical and assigned administrative duties.
Acts as liaison with hospital administration and medical staff as department head.
Should be a member of the hospital head of service and represent the interests of emergency medicine.
Should be concern with medical officer’s scheduling.
Lead and implement the clinical direction for the organization.
Keep abreast of emerging models in health care delivery; identify and define new and innovative strategies to achieve business goals and objectives.
Assist with the Accreditation process and maintaining the standards for both Health Management and Credentialing.
Active engagement in business development opportunities to include presenting business and clinical capabilities to employer, legislative officials and other key constituents.
Provide clinical guidance, support and education to the Emergency Department.
Oversee the following: Quality Management Committee, including quality improvement and compliance Credentialing Committee, Disaster committee Medical Advisory. committee, Peer review & ethics committee and Safety and Health committee.
Build and leverage cross functional collaborative relationship to achieve shared company goals.
Promote collaboration to both internal and external healthcare team members.
Other Clinical Responsibilities
Provide expert and appropriate medical services and advice to patients, their families and other healthcare professionals.
Coordinate and run the Company resuscitation team in accordance with the American Health Association BLS/ACLS guidelines.
Maintain confidentially and objectivity in accordance with he ethics of the profession.
Practice within his/ herarea of competence and assumes accountability for his/ her own professional responsibilities.
Maintain an appropriate level of continuous professional development through interdisciplinary training, with online courses and other educational alternatives.
Promote effective communication strategies and maintain good interdepartmental liaison.
To be able to multi-function and show willingness to take on further tasks that may be required.
Professional/Personal Responsibilities
Communicate using appropriate terminology for the patient, their families and other healthcare professionals. Demonstrate communication, cooperation with team and guest harmoniously.
This position will required the employee to handle Protected Health Information (PHI) for duties related to provider credentialing, complaints and grievance, claim issues, Medical Management issues and risk and compliance issues. Access to the PHI contained in the claims, Medical Management and provide credentialing system is necessary for this staff member.
Other Responsibilities
Ensure all policies and procedures of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and
MSQH Hospital Accreditation Standard are adhered to and records maintained, if and
when these programs are implemented.
Participate in 5S activities and comply with the specified requirements. Ensure adhere to The KPJ Way/ Standard People Practice (SPP). Ensure the policies on patients and family’s rights are addressed at all times. Ensure to actively participate in all quality initiatives and activities by the Company To carried out duties as an employee as stipulated in Occupational Safety and Health
Act and Regulations 1994.

Ensure all policies and procedures of ISO 37001 Anti Bribery Management System (ABMS) are adhered to and responsible for integrity principles, practices, and activities at hospitals & companies if and when these programs are implemented.
2) JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Must possess at least a Medical Degree or equivalent from recognized institutions.
Full registration with Malaysian Medical Council.
Current Annual Practicing Certificate.
Knowledge and Experiences
Completed at least 4 years of service with the Government
Special skills
Knowledge in healthcare system management, medical quality assurance, quality improvement and risk management
Personal attributes
Ability to work independently and a team player.
Demonstrates positive attitude, passion and pride.
Communicate using appropriate terminology for the patient, their families and other healthcare professionals.
