Role Description
The Head/Deputy Head of Engineering will be responsible for managing the Maintenance department, Facilities department, and Project department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and Development
- Responsible for the overall engineering activities across the business.
- Create and implement best practice engineering vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance.
- Ensure that engineering strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets.
- Take ownership of the engineering policies, guidelines and any associated documents.
- Initiate and develop creative and innovative engineering processes.
General and Task Management
- Provide technical support to onsite engineering teams, estimations and business development related matters.
- Responsible for overseeing all aspects of build design, from contract award to handover.
- Support project management to cross functional activity required for project execution.
- Work closely with Purchasing department to ensure all external contracts are regularly reviewed following company policies and guidelines, ensuring best value.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting on engineering activities.
Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
- Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the engineering strategy.
People Management
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to departments under control, and development of talents.
- Ensure strong communication between cross departmental teams to facilitate exchange of information, execution of activities and continuous improvements.
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Candidate must possess at least Bachelor Degree in Engineering field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the same capacity.
- Sound knowledge and technical understanding of automotive processes, components and design techniques.
- Excellent relationship management and project management skills, with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
- Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets .
- Demonstrable experience of leading an engineering function with a proven track record in strategic engineering leadership delivering effective engineering strategies, policies, processes and systems.
- Applicants must be willing to be based in Pulau Indah, Klang.
