Head of Compliance - Urgent Role

Job Summary:

Develop and oversee control systems for both technical and non-technical processes, in view of compliance and assurance activities, to ensure policies and procedures are in line with regulations and “Company” standards to prevent violations that will result in detrimental effect to the company’s business and reputation.

Policies, Procedures and Guidelines:

• Formulate policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance and HSE activities are according to regulations, standards and business requirements.
• Liaise and work closely with “Company Name” to ensure all the requirements for business are duly met and in accordance with “Company Name” requirement.

Compliance and HSSE Audits:

• Develop compliance programs in alignment with local F&B industry. 
• Plan for periodic audits and reviews on the level of compliance and HSSE activities across all functions.
• Perform audits on company procedures and processes on periodic basis.
• Review checklist on yearly basis to ensure controls are in place for all business activities.
• Recommend way forward for improvement in business operations from audit findings.
• Ensure all local regulatory and other relevant compliance and HSE are defined, identified, documented. and updated.
• Inculcate good compliance and Generative HSE Culture in the company.

Assurance Activities:

• Perform role as Asset Coordinator for first line assurance.
• Conduct yearly annual assurance masterplan.
• Ensure timely submission of assurance reporting and related documents for all relevant departments.

Training & Advisory:

• Formulate compliance training by working closely with authority and “Company Name”.
• Review training module from time-to-time by working closely with HR capability team.
• Plan for yearly compliance training activities.
• Provide advisory to “Company Name” on compliance information and business activities.

Vital skills for this role include:

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in any discipline, preferably food science/technology field, life sciences, retail management, marketing or business administration. 
• 8-10 years of relevant work experience (minimum).
• 8 years of experience in people management and leadership, including marketing and communications.
• Certified food handling and halal trainer.
• Audit experience will be an added advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both Bahasa Melayu and English
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to organize work in a logical, thorough and succinct manner.
• Self-motivated and possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Possess distinctive mindset, behavior and work culture.
