We are now hiring a Assistant Manager HR / HR Manager to lead, manage and optimize the human resources function within the construction company. 

 

Purpose: 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager HR / HR Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping our human resources strategies. The purpose of this role is to provide strategic leadership and operational support in all areas of HR, fostering an inclusive and high-performance work culture. You will be instrumental in driving organizational growth through effective talent management, employee engagement, and HR initiatives.

Accountability: 

As the Assistant Manager HR / HR Manager, you will be directly accountable for the development, implementation, and evaluation of HR policies, programs, and practices. You will collaborate with senior management to align HR strategies with organizational goals and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Your accountability extends to fostering a positive work environment that nurtures talent, promotes diversity, and upholds our company values.

 

Expectations:

  • Lead and mentor the HR team, providing guidance and support in all HR functions.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's construction projects and long-term goals.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, ensuring the recruitment of skilled professionals who meet project requirements.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that promotes employee engagement and retention.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian labor laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Drive employee development and training programs to enhance skills and career advancement.
  • Collaborate with the Management to align HR strategies with the company's overall strategy.
  • Continuously assess and improve HR processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor and report on HR metrics and key performance indicators to support data-driven decision-making.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Leadership: Provide strategic direction for HR initiatives, aligning them with the company's construction projects and business objectives.
  • Ensure the company complies with Malaysian labor laws, regulations, and industry standards in all HR practices.
  • Implement employee training and development programs to enhance skills and promote career growth.
  • Responsible for and manage overall Human Resource functions such as payroll management, recruitment, compensation & benefits, industrial relations, training, and development, participation with manpower, planning, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Review and developing Company Policy & Procedures Employee Handbook (HR Policies, Procedures, and Manual).
  • Handle full set of recruitment process and to recruit the right talents within the hiring timeline.
  • Review compensation and benefits packages and policies aligned with the Company's strategy.
  • Prepare and generate HR Report and its related scope of activities report(s) in timely and accurate manner within depth analysis.
  • Coordinate and administer Performance Appraisal, setting of KPI/KRA exercise as per timeline.
  • Handle disciplinary issues, conduct domestic inquiry, staff counselling and other employee’s relation matters in compliance with local legislations.
  • To ensure HR records are in proper filing and retrieval system for accurate files, records, reports, and confidential correspondences.
  • To plan, coordinating, and organizing employee activities and events.
  • Responsible for subordinates' performance.
  • Any other ad hoc assignments assigned by the Management from time to time.

 

Requirements:

  • At least Diploma/Degree in Human Resource Management or its equivalent.
  • Required language(s): English, Bahasa and Mandarin. Successful candidate will need to liaise with our Mandarin speaking counterparts.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role in construction industry.
  • Have good knowledge and experience in Malaysia Employment Law and Industrial Law.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of driving HR initiatives and achieving results.
  • Independent and can work with minimum supervision and guidance.
  • Fluent in using HR software like Infotech would be an added advantage.
