ICT & Computer Science Teacher (IGCSE) - August 2024 - Unlimited Growth Potential

Overview

Sri KDU International School Klang are seeking a highly qualified and experienced ICT & Computer Science Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching IGCSE Computer Science & ICT curriculum, as well as extensive knowledge in delivering robotics, programming languages such as python and block coding’s like scratch. Proficiency in Adobe Suite is highly desirable, as is hands-on experience in utilising Adobe tools for educational purposes. The role may also involve taking on a leadership position within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering high-quality instruction in IGCSE Computer Science & ICT curriculum.
• Developing engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that cater to students' diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Facilitating hands-on activities and projects to reinforce learning concepts and enhance students' practical skills.
• Teaching Python programming language and block coding through interactive and experiential learning methods.
• Integrating Adobe Suite tools into the curriculum to enhance students' digital literacy and creativity.
• Assessing student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods and providing timely feedback.
• Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
• Collaborating with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive curriculum delivery.
• Participating in departmental meetings, professional development activities, and school events.
• Taking on leadership responsibilities within the department, such as curriculum development, mentoring new teachers, or coordinating extracurricular activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Teaching certification or qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) is required.
• Proven experience teaching IGCSE Computer Science & ICT curriculum.
• In-depth knowledge and proficiency in Python programming language and block coding.
• Familiarity with Adobe Suite tools (e.g., Photoshop and Illustrator) and their applications in education.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership potential or experience in a similar role is an advantage.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on advancements in the field of ICT and Computer Science education.

About the role
