Role Purpose:

Effectively manage the Group’s Internal Audit function to ensure that it adds value by providing an independent, cost effective and efficient internal audit service to the Group’s operations. At the same time, provide independent and objective assurance on the management of risk throughout the Group.

Responsibilities:

• Reports directly to Board Audit and Risk Committee and leads a team of internal auditors.
• Develops an annual audit plan to cover internal controls, risk management process, regulatory compliance, credit management process, treasury and cash management process, capital expenditure procedures, administrative and financial systems, human resources, IT, reliability of financial and management accounts, and investigation of sensitive and fraud-related issues.
• Organises, schedules and assigns audits to team members, and develop procedures and plans.
• Oversees and ensures team’s audit quality and effectiveness.
• Provides guidance, support, and constructive feedback to team members to enhance their capabilities.
• Ensures final audit reports are issued with all recommendations agreed and accepted by the audited individual/department.
• Builds relationships with heads of department across the organisation to understand issues and identifies areas for improvement and business optimisation.
• Consistently develops, documents, and adheres to best practices in order to improve the audit process.

Requirements:

• Possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Professional Degree (majoring in Finance/Accountancy)
• Minimum of 10 years auditing experience including 3 years in managerial position, preferably with extensive knowledge and experience in chemicals manufacturing industry.
• Strong working knowledge of audit/risk assessment techniques and principles.
• Sound judgement and strong decision-making skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to successfully coordinate and direct team members.
• Presents self in a confident and professional manner.
• Able to work on multiple projects.
• Good command in English and proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is an added advantage.
• Applicants should be Malaysian citizens.
• Willing to travel outstation extensively.
