IT System Engineer - Hiring Now

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor server performance and take appropriate actions (e.g. tune).
• Perform operating system upgrades and assure the quality of fixes and enhancements.
• Assist others in analysing and resolving system and application problems.
• Assist with root-cause analysis.
• Analyse existing infrastructure and recommend modifications that will enhance system reliability, availability, serviceability, and scalability.
• Participate in global production support call rotation.
• The individual should be comfortable working in a team environment, excel in collaborative problem solving, and work on multiple priorities simultaneously. They should be well organized and capable of managing a busy work schedule with multiple demands on their time.

Education Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
• 6 to 8 years of related work experience.

Competence & Skills:

• Technical experience with IBM/AIX, Red Hat Linux, Cisco UCS, and NetApp SAN.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Experience working with Oracle DBA’s 
• Responsible for tuning IBM Power hardware and software systems.
• Provide technical analysis and design support for applications running on AIX and Red Hat Linux.
• Thoroughly test hardware and software upgrades.
• Implement procedures for maintenance, monitoring, backup, and recovery operations.
• Plan, prepare, and apply maintenance patches to system software.
• Looking for outgoing candidates with good communication and interpersonal skills.
